It's hard to believe that no one has ever been messed up from a person pretending to be your friend and totally messing up your life in order to better Thiers. Well then please tell me what I am doing wrong, am I too nice in helping others or am I not doing or asking the right questions, I am desperate people, please tell me how to spot the pretenders please

Let's hear everyone's story of a fake friend but please use no names , but anything else goes

I have this so called friend that I actually got off the streets and let him move in my place. He helped out with food and some cleaning but noticed things missing. When I asked him about it , he would just say I don't know and change the subject. I have lost a lot of things in the past and don't really get upset because it was never something that couldn't be replaced until I noticed something very important and spiritual and could never get back or replaced. I confronted th...is person and knew he was lying and I had enough. I told him it was in his best interest to leave but he argued and wouldn't leave and after an hour or so I had enough. I grabbed my bully club and chances him out and shut the door. He then proceeded to tell profanities so I went outside and he ran away so I grabbed his bicycle and brought it in the house. The same thing happened again so I went outside again and he ran away again so I grabbed his bicycle trailer and brought it in. He started again yelling and swearing so I again went outside , but this time I chased him and hit him about the legs about 3 solid hits. He ran into the street yelling for passing vehicles to call the police. I then yelled the same profanities at him that he was calling me. I went back inside and he just left knowing what would happen again if I had to go outside. Every time I see this thieving idiot I feel like putting him out of his misery but common sense tells me just let him leave and since has been very scarce. Did I over react or not?
