Happy Easter, Church! Thank you so much for joining us in prayer over these past 21 days. Who knows what God has done in our region over these last 3 weeks bec...ause the Church united together in prayer! Our prayer is that this movement is only the beginning - may His Kingdom continue to move and grow in the days to come!

The Gospels of Luke and John record these words, spoken by Jesus while he is dying on the cross. Where, in your life, do you need to hear God speak these words? We pray that you do.

So much going on in our world. Even as we're present to the pain and brokenness around us, don't forget to be present with the Truth of Jesus and His love and sacrifice. May the latter give us strength and steadfastness for the former. May Jesus be our everything. Thank you, Jesus.

Day 20: Praying for Prodigals Read: Luke 15:17-24 For years I thought that the story of the prodigal son was simply about a child that was far from home. But th...e word prodigal doesn’t mean a child that leaves, or a child that leaves and returns. Prodigal means extravagant and wasteful. This story is about a son who wastes what he is given, who squanders the blessings he has. Realizing this has changed the story for me. The issue isn’t that there is distance between the father and the son, the issue is the son’s attitude towards his father and his resources. Many of us know people who have left us and gone off to waste their lives, but others see them across the table in their own home. They may not be living in luxury, but they are wasting the opportunities, talents, gifts, resources and time that they have been given. They carry an attitude that takes God for granted, and we watch them slip farther and farther into despair or stubbornness. Then again, maybe that’s you. You’re the person that has been missing the purpose of what you have and ignoring the opportunity you have to know God. You consider your finances to be something you have earned and deserve, your position and authority at work is for your ambition and growth. You may feel that you have to take all you can from life before it takes it from you and all life has to offer are temporary experiences, because no one in your life really cares. Regardless of where we fit into this there are two realities we must face. The first is that living prodigiously leads to emptiness, desperation, and pain. That pain can be useful. It can wake us up, it can snap us out of the psychosis pride and greed have created, but it’s hard. The second is that when we’re ready to appreciate God and be humble, He reacts with compassion! There are no grudges, no lingering resentment, just forgiveness, hope, and a fresh start! With those two realities comes the potential need to pray for both of them. We may need to pray for pain and humility. They aren’t pleasant experiences, but what they produce are worth it, whether in our own lives, or in the lives of our loved ones. I don’t mean to say that we should create painful experiences, but we should submit ourselves, and release our loved ones, to God’s work and let Him do whatever is necessary to see the prodigal brought back to life. And that’s what this story is about. It isn’t about coming home, it’s about coming back to life! Evan Oxner Amherst Wesleyan Church

Day 21: Pray for Revival When the priests came out of the Holy Place, a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. The priests could not continue their servic...e because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of the Lord. 1 Kings 8:10-11 It’s possible to spend a lot of time in church and yet still at times miss God. The priests in this passage were pretty familiar with ministry. It had been their life’s work. In order to reach that level of spiritual leadership, they would have undergone an intense period of study and memorization and practice to make sure they knew the Law and were abiding by it at every moment. They had done their ‘service’ many, many times. But THIS time, there was something different about their work. This time, the ‘glorious presence of the Lord’ met them to such a degree that things couldn’t just proceed as normal. Not today. Their work for God had been interrupted...by God. That is a good reminder for all of us who claim Christ as our Saviour, and have spent year after year attending church services and hearing countless sermons and checking off our daily Bible reading plans - you can do it all, and still miss Him. You can do it all, and still need a fresh experience of God’s presence. The Pharisees serve as this warning in the New Testament; they had even gone so far as to cast out demons and perform wonders - but they didn’t KNOW Him. God help us from making the same mistake. We want to see God spark revival in our region. The heart behind this Nova Scotia Prays initiative is to see the Church come together in unity and begin praying together for God to do something fresh and new across our region. Our churches have combined to do a lot of church. We have done church well. We work hard at doing church, especially in this current season of limited seating capacities and online services. But, wouldn’t it be incredible to see our work interrupted...by God? To see Him move across denominational lines, to see the sick be healed, the addicted be freed, the broken be restored, and the lost come home? To see Him interrupt our church services in the best possible way? Our prayer is that we would see God show up in such a tangible way that we couldn’t just continue to proceed as usual. May God be present in our churches this weekend. And not just in a way that our pastors’ sermons seem especially good, or that the band plays with more skill than usual, but so that we would have to put our regularly scheduled programming on hold because of the ‘glorious presence of the Lord’ knocking us off our feet. Lord, may you spark a revival across Nova Scotia, and may we be willing to have our lives and our churches be interrupted by the power of your presence. Mark Brewer Yarmouth Wesleyan

Ecuador has been hard hit by COVID-19. The first and more obvious hit was the immense lose from the virus itself. The second hit was the financial impacts on households as a result of the strict measures taken to slow the virus' spread. Our friends at Faro de Esperanza have started a COVID-19 Relief Project. Please follow the link in the post below to read about their plans and to learn how to give and pray.

Another note from Daniel Lucas Moreira, one of our Ecuadorian friends: Our Bible Camp season is about to start, we want to thank all those people, ministries and chuches that, one way or another, get involve every year. Please, pray for the the kids, youth and staff attending the Bible Camp season. Also for the groups that are coming from Canada. A big concern, always, is safety during beach time. Please, pray specially for this concern. This year the Bible Camp Ministry cele...brates its 20th anniversary. We are aware and thankful for God's provision and faithfulness all this years. We couldn't have done it without Him. We believe He is the one providing and moving the hearts of all those people, ministries and churches that support, pray or have come every year for the last 20 years. So, we want to give a special thanks to the churches that support our camps: Lincoln Road Chapel - Waterloo, Woodside Bible Fellowship, Wallenstein Bible Chapel, Fall River Chapel, Valley Bible Chapel, Terrill Road Bible Chapel and ForestView Church Without Walls. Also, to all those people involved, now and then, those who have been of great blessing to the life of the people in Ecuador. Also, thanks to Lili Horne and Tim Horne, our founders.
