Can you bring your dog to the photo shoot? SO MANY YES’ES!!! Hey, my name is Jenn and I love children and animals. Family extends to the furry friends in our lives (and the spiked ones too!).... Yes, I said spiked! Last year I had someone bring their hedgehog to their shoot! And it was pure magic (It was literally on my bucket list lol). Some good tips for bringing your puppy to a photo shoot (especially if you have a toddler too!): -Ask Grandma to come along to carry any bags, and take pup for a walk for some photos without your furry friend. -Bring a squeaky toy or favourite stuffy for your photographer to hold to get their eyes towards the camera. -Stay calm! It can be overwhelming to get a toddler and a puppy to settle for a shot - don’t worry I can preform miracles in Photoshop! -try to have black leashes and remove any bag holders Have questions? It can be very nerve-wrecking to get your photos taken with your toddler. Most moms are just happy to get their toddlers in the car without a meltdown, let alone in their choice outfit (moms, I’ve been there - it gets better!). Here are some tips for getting the most out of your session if you have toddlers: -You can make things smoother but booking your session during your child’s most awake and happy time of the day. ... -Make sure you bring tidy snacks like grapes and small crackers like goldfish. -Arrive early to take your little one to the bathroom if potty training. -Let your toddler hello pick out their outfit and tell them what to expect the day before. -make sure you tell them your photographers name and hype up how fun its going to be. -Avoid sugar and try to avoid bribery and instead focus on how much fun you’re having. -Stand directly behind the camera and get your toddlers attention when doing individual shots. -Take breaks when you have any protest and focus on playing shots - play tag, tickle or throw them up in the air. -Don’t panic or feel embarrassed if they have a tantrum! Roll with it and stay relax, the more you stress the more they will fight it. Your photographer should be getting down to your child’s level and making a real effort to get to know them and engage to win their trust. Without that it’s really hard to get those genuine smiles and it helps win them over! Plus, who doesn’t love getting to know cute kids?!!?
