We have been closed for 2 weeks now. I though I would share a bit of personal stuff here today for a change. This has not felt like a vacation to me yet as I have been just as busy as when I work 9-5. Things seem to take longer when you don't have scheduling parameters to follow. I have been purging the house and office (like everyone else I bet). I am doing regular workouts and yoga practices from home via online classes (check out Bridgewater Yoga, GoFitnessNiagara, Soulfir...eYoga). I go for regular walks with my new dog (connecting with nature is very meditative - love these - rain or shine). I am enjoying gardening without a deadline, pruning trees, and getting the vegetables beds ready. I still have quite a list of things to get done including a fair bit of reading and plan on sewing some masks for donations in the next week. I am using this time to slow things down and reflect on what is important. We have a women's dentistry network in Niagara and everyone is sharing supplies and information. This has been a great resource and I love how everyone has come together in this. I am grateful for my family (my father has not been well but is home now and hopefully on the mend), friends and being able to connect daily via the internet/phone and for my "work" family and to be able to do what I like in a setting that I like (small team, small practice, small town). I am sure you all know already that our office is closed until we get the green light again. We are still tending to emergencies. Patients can leave messages on the machine. They get checked daily plus I am at the office most days doing neccessary maintenance, paperwork and spring cleanup. Please follow updates from our government or the ministry of health on how to keep yourself and your family and friends safe. I am making the best of this stressful time by looking at the positives (since this is out of our hands) and doing the things I usually don't have time for and I remind myself that there have been worse times (and currently in other countries) where food and basic need could not be met.
