The cat is outta the bag!!! Or, outta the shelter I should say. We’d like to introduce you to our newest family member: Oscar Meyer Campanelli! Our boys have been asking for a pet for over a year now. We’ve posted all about our journey on our blog (www.familytravelguide.ca) Family Travel Guide but, in short, we fell in love with this kind, older soul and decided to bring him home. He’s a 5-year-old rescue from Ninth Life Cat rescue who is the animal welfare partner at our l...ocal PetSmart store. We’re still looking for a second, friskier cat to add to our family so when we learned that this coming weekend (May 17-19) is #NationalAdoptionWeek at PetSmart we partnered with them to spread the word about how you can also #AdoptLove. Did you know that PetSmart doesn’t sell cats and they never have? Instead, they offer space to local shelters/charities to showcase adoptable animals. Together with humane societies and shelters, PetSmart Charities of Canada has found homes for nearly 300,000 pets over 20 years. We’ve donated meals to needy cats through the store and when we adopted Oscar the fee went to the charity. We will be documenting our experience this weekend at the adoption event, in our Instagram stories, so follow along to see if we find a companion for Oscar.
