Did you know? It’s completely normal for young children to have flat feet. Babies are born with a fat pad where the arch normally is, making their feet appear ...flat. Young children also have very flexible feet, which causes them to flatten more when standing. Most children develop an arch by age 5 or 6 years old, therefore, no treatment is required for young kids with flat feet, unless they have pain or stiffness in their feet, or if only one foot is flat. #PACFootHealth If you have any questions or concerns please contact your local Pedorthist. https://www.pedorthic.ca/find-a-pedorthist/ See more

"In the house and on the street, how many different feet you meet!" (Dr. Seuss). When was the last time we saw your feet? Q: How long do orthotics last, you ask...? A: The lifespan of a foot orthotic varies from patient to patient. The materials used to make the foot orthotic, the patient’s foot structure, levels of activity, age and physical condition all impact the orthoses lifespan. The lifespan of a foot orthotic should not be measured by when the cover material wears out but by how long the orthotic meets the foot’s changing needs for support, correction and pressure redistribution. If your symptoms begin to return it is a good idea to have your orthotic reassessed to determine if modifications or a new device are necessary. Pedorthist can replace the cover material, if it has worn out or is no longer providing the cushion it once did. To learn more about foot orthotics and Canadian Certified Pedorthists - C.
