Trail preparation has been alot of fun for the members and volunteers involved. We appreciate all the hard work and most importantly the local farmers who allow... us to BORROW the land for our use. Let's respect the trails this season we will have alot of snowmobilers from the area due to covid restrictions. So be curtious and enjoy the thamesford trails. See more

Heads up everyone this is the final weekend to get your Ontario trail permit at the lowest price of the year - and when you consider what it actually costs you to ride per kilometre, it's a great deal!

FROM WASHOUT TO WONDERFUL.. (The Before and The After) Our friends at The Dysart Roads Dept look after this section of TOP "B" near Trail 10 in our off se...ason. Locally it's called "The Peterson" out Harburn way. Background: Peterson Road, built in 1863 to settle the area, large portions are overgrown and abandoned. Other sections make up TOP "B" and TOP "E" trails in the HCSA's area. Ride this one and you are on a route older than Canada. Snow ready ! Now we can go visit our pals The Paudash Trailblazers. Can't wait ! Thank you Dysart et al !!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s What You Can Do To Change Quebec Law! On Nov 8 I posted about some Ontario riders being fined in Quebec for custom numbers. Now you can email their Minis...ter of Tourism to change this now (see contact info & message at the end of this post). FYI, here’s what the FCMQ wants: The FCMQ is seeking to change the law which makes it possible to issue fines for custom numbers. The problem lies in their wording for snowmobile licensing requirements. Currently, it states the following: "snowmobiles with a net weight of 450 kg or less belonging to persons not resident in Québec provided that such snowmobiles are registered in accordance with the laws governing the place of residence or business of their owner, that they bear valid licence plates of that place This says that snowmobiles of non-residents must be properly licensed and registered in their home jurisdiction (the principle of reciprocity which essentially applies within Canada and the US). The problem that currently exists (ie. Some Ontario riders getting tickets for the use of custom numbers) is related to the last 9 words - "that they bear valid licence plates of that place." Some Quebec law enforcement officers interpret these words to mean that the white decal sticker with blue lettering issued by MTO to be the ONLY acceptable licence plate on Ontario sleds. So Ontario riders who choose to display custom numbers (as provided for, and permitted, in the Ontario Motorized Snow Vehicle Act) are deemed to be in violation of the Quebec law. To avoid this misinterpretation, the FCMQ is requesting that the Quebec government remove the phrase that they bear valid licence plates of that place from the regulation to close the door for issuing tickets for custom numbers once and for all. To help ensure that Quebec acts on this request now, please email their Minister of Tourism at [email protected], Copied to both of: Minister of Transport at [email protected] and the Tourism Alliance at [email protected] Just copy & paste this paragraph: As an Ontario Snowmobiler who enjoys riding in Quebec, I support the FCMQ request that the before the coming winter, the Quebec government remove the phrase that they bear valid licence plates of that place from article 14, paragraph 4 of the Regulation respecting off road vehicle registration. Let's do our part, folks!
