Ronald Regan This is probably the most profound quote I have heard since the advent of this crowd funding campaign by my amazing neighbours Rebecca and Dave.... I am utterly flabbergasted at the response from family, friends and especially strangers in their desire to see me fulfill my dream of walking again. Not only did you all meet the goal but you EXCEEDED it!! I feel like this recurring nightmare I have been stuck in for the last nine years will be making its last appearance and that I can FINALLY wake up and feel whole. It is because of ALL OF YOU that I feel a rebirth of myself taking shape. It is important for me to share with you the next steps in my journey, as absolutely NONE of it would be possible without any of you. I am in the process of getting a final quote for a leg that will allow me to do 93% of what I was able to do prior to my amputation. Once all that has been approved I will come in for a casting and then fitting of the socket to which my C-Leg will be attached. I will then be subject to SERIOUS physio and occupational therapy to get me well adapted to walking with a definitive leg. I know it will be a tough road ahead of me but I can say this is one challenge I gladly welcome and the end result is my ultimate dream come trueTO WALK. There will NEVER be words to express just how incredibly grateful I am to everyone for literally changing the course of not only MY life but for the life of my family. They too finally get to be free and walk alongside meholding my hand. Please do me the honour of holding yours as wellXOXO

It is with great sadness that I must let you all know I will no longer be operating. Someone decided to notify the City of Burlington of my hobby bakery despite the fact there are hundreds of home businesses in the neighbourhood. There was no complaint about the baked goods I was producing just the fact that I run a hobby bakery from my home. I bake to make people happy and to make myself feel useful since much of my independence was taken away when I lost my right leg abo...ve the knee to cancer. Being permanently disabled is a challenge in it of itself but I have made it a point to not dwell on that fact and focus on things that make me and those around me happy. Baking was one of those things. It may not mean much to some but to me it was incredibly therapeutic and in some ways made me feel whole again. I also saved the little funds I made baking towards my dream of getting a proper prosthetic leg so that I can walk again. I'm trying not to be bitter, as I can attest that being diagnosed with cancer and given a 50/50 chance of survival, that life is too short to hold onto anger. I just want to let you all know how incredibly grateful and lucky I am to have such AMAZING clients and many of you have become friends. I have loved hearing all the stories about how some of your requests to me came about and how happy my baked goods have made you all. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
