Back on dry land for the winter
Joseph Chapman is the ICCAT fisheries observer that reported Capt. Eric Stewart's tag being recovered on a giant bluefin during the Malta trap harvest (see 2 pr...evious posts). (note-he corrected the record: fish was caught off France and towed to Malta). He just forwarded terrific photos showing what a 45 lb "tiny" female ABFT, in Sept 2012, had grown into 8 years later (25 Oct 2020). Check out the perfect tag placement, F/V Tammy Rose! Many thanks to AJD Farm, Malta, for supporting bluefin science and tagging, and Mr. Chapman for sharing all of the info. And we congratulate MRAG UK for adding Joe as a new staff member! See more

The Reel Knotty was back after a successful season for a closet, stern protection, wear patch, water heater and some odd and ends. Plus the "Star of the Seas" hit the ramp .

With the end of another year approaching I’d like to take the opportunity to wish friends, family, and clients a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2020. At Fat Tuna, we have a lot to be thankful for in 2019, a very successful lobster season, finally getting in a real halibut trip, besting our personal bluefin catch, and starting construction on a new boat. I am excited about the challenges, excitement, and opportunities that 2020 will bring our way. Here’s a few pictures for the 2019 season. Stay tuned for more updates this winter as the build progresses on the new boat.
The motor arrived and the hull should be ready for transit early next week
End of another day!!!
