We did it! We completed our first term back at FAYC. We are thrilled with how this term went and are extremely proud of our students. This term looked a bit different and we made adjustments as we went. That didn’t stop us from learning, creating, playing and doing what we love - theatre! While we weren’t able to have an audience for our end of term show, we came up with a unique plan that kept our students engaged and focussed. We created a recording space where our studen...ts could record their vocals separately from the group to ensure everyone’s safety during the blocking and choreo. Last night we completed all of our filming for the term and we are compiling footage to create our show for a virtual audience. Even with adjustments and strict health and safety procedures - it was a breath of fresh air to see our students learning in person again. Thank you to all of our students and families for trusting us and following each and every guideline. Your support means the world and we do this for YOU! We are halfway through our term and we can’t believe how fast it flew by. We are so grateful for all of our students and their families. Thank you for supporting FAYC through these crazy times. We may be following new health and safety guidelines but we are BACK and thrilled to have our students working in-person on their craft again! We’re all in this together! We want to thank you for being a part of our family over the years... as a supporter, past, current or prospective client of the First Act Youth Company. Just like many small businesses across the world, we have encountered many financial hardships over the past few months. Along with many others, we could not have imagined this pandemic happening and the financial struggles that it would cause. Throughout the mandatory COVID-19 closures, it was a...lways our goal to push through so that we could reopen our doors for all of our students as soon as it was safely possible. We know how important theatre is for our young artists, and how crucial the social aspect of this kind of training really is. We are thrilled that we are able to offer some in-person programming this fall and we can’t wait to get back into the swing of things, while incorporating our new health and safety guidelines and protocols. That being said, it will take us quite a while to get back on our feet and build up the momentum that we had back in March. With all of this in mind, we have decided to launch a fundraiser to help get us back on our feet, and we’re hoping you can help us! We are selling custom FAYC face masks throughout the month of September. The funds raised will go directly towards reopening our facility: (rent, utilities, PPE equipment, teaching materials, staffing fees, and enhanced cleaning procedures). Our masks are $20 each, available in both adult and youth sizes. All masks are black, with the option of a white OR red logo. The countdown is on! In just 36 days we will be reopening our studio to our FAYC family!
