Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor, had a big decision to make about Jesus of Nazareth. Release this innocent man or let another prisoner go instead and keep Jesus on death row. He caved to crowd pressure and let a man named Barabbas go free. What can we learn from this? Join us this Palm Sunday at 9 am or 11 am or online and let’s do some digging!

First Baptist Church Wallaceburg 10.04.2021

At the hour of Jesus’ deepest need He went with His apostles to a special place to pray: Gethsemane. He often met here with the twelve during His earthly ministry. There is much passion in His prayer and what He went through points us towards the value of the cross. Let’s study and find out more this Sunday at 9 am and 11 am and also online. And we also want to take a moment to consider that this Sunday is our ONE-YEAR-ANNIVERSARY of doing an online service. Can you believe it's been that long? Get a recap online or in the services at church tomorrow.

Christmas is for YOU! Make no mistake about it, the wonderful message of Christmas is for EVERYONE. Yes, there are many religions in the world and people can choose whatever path they wish to take in life but it doesn’t change the fact that God’s wonderful plan all along, from the very beginning, was to include YOU! Join us as we look at the Christmas story in Luke 2 with a fresh perspective during this pandemic period.

When John the Baptist was born his father, Zacharias, prophesied that he would have a ministry of preaching to prepare people for the coming of Jesus the Messiah. Well, Jesus is coming again for the second and final time and so many people in our world are not yet prepared for His coming. Like John before us we must be proclaimers of the good news. Let’s find out more this week at 9 am and 11 am and online about how we can help remind people that Christmas is about Christ.

At this time of year our minds go back to the time of the two world wars, as well as the Korean Conflict, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, etc. We are a country at peace now but we have also been at war. We have other battles, though, that we wage on a regular basis, battles with the world, the flesh, and the devil. We won’t go far trusting in our own resources. No, we need the Lord to fight our battles. David knew that very well and communicates that in Psalm 60. We invite you to join us this Sunday at 9 am or 11 am or online to study this further.

We live in a society that seems to adhere to the principle that you need to speak up if something needs to be addressed. That is very true in so many circumstances but not all. Sometimes the Lord wants us to bring our concerns before Him in prayer and then leave them there and WAIT SILENTLY for His response. Have you ever had to do that? What situations might warrant such a posture? Let’s study this out further in this week's service. We will also celebrate the Lord’s Table..., with communion elements ready for you, so if you are joining us from home in the online service please prepare beforehand. As a reminder for our in-person services - with the cold weather lately it is more appealing to chat inside, but we are still asking everyone to make your way directly outside after the services. Let's keep working together to keep everyone well!

David prays earnestly in Psalm 61, but it is not a prayer of desperation based on past regrets but rather a prayer of confidence based on God’s past provision. God has been, and will continue to be, faithful, and David is confident of that. We would do well to follow his example. Join us as we dig deeper into the promises contained for us in Psalm 61. Sunday services at 9 & 11 and available online starting Sunday morning.

First Baptist Church Wallaceburg 10.10.2020

Psalm 63 is a remarkable portion of Scripture written from the heart of a man in passionate pursuit of God. David is described in the Bible as a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14). Not only did David seek God ‘earnestly’ but he also did it ‘early’ according to the first verse of this psalm. Is there a connection that we can utilize in our walk with God? Let’s find out this Sunday at either the 9 am or 11 am in house services, or online starting tomorrow morning at our link below.

When it comes to making decisions and lifestyle choices, what influences your final decision? Are you firm in your convictions to do everything God’s way, or are you swayed by the opinions of others? We are not talking here about the wisdom of godly counsel but rather the approval of those we value as friends or have influence over us in our jobs, etc. Would you sacrifice your inner convictions if it meant keeping the peace or wanting people to like you? Join us this Sunday at 9 am and 11 am or online as we delve deeper into this important subject.

"What Is Your Calling?" If you're a follower of Jesus Christ then you have a calling. A calling isn’t just for pastors. No, EVERY Christian is called to a specific work that the Lord has for him/her to do while on this earth. Have you discovered yours yet? Let’s investigate further tomorrow online or at our 9 am and 11 am services.

We live in a world where people get offended by this, that, and the other thing. We need faith in Jesus to overcome being offended by scripture in the bible that we don't agree with, or don't think "is right". Let's learn how to trust that God has a plan for us and His Word. Don't miss the first of a new sermon series with Pastor Brian online this Sunday to learn about "Being Wary of Offense" And if you're planning to go in-person to our 9 or 11 am service you're in for a treat! Rev Bob Taylor will be our guest speaker. *We will be observing communion this week both online and in-person.

Sometimes, like the exiles that returned from captivity, we have to learn our lessons the hard way. However, as long as we learn them there are blessings to enjoy. When that’s the case, boy, has God got something in mind for us! The challenges and corrections that God’s people faced are now going to give way to incredible blessing, and we can be in on that, too. Join us this Sunday online or at our regular 9 &11 am services, and let’s find out what God has reserved for us on the road ahead

"Sin Is Contagious; Holiness Is Not!" You know the old saying, One rotten apple spoils the barrel and with sin, that is definitely true. Unfortunately, a little bit of holiness does not turn a sour life sweet. The people of God needed to hear this message from the prophet Haggai, and we do, too! Join us Sunday online or at the 9am/11am service as we study what it means to live a holy life instead of trying to put a bandage over our sins.

In case you need an after-lunch pick-me-up, here's the unabridged testimony Pastor Brian featured in yesterday's sermon. God is at work through the servants at First Baptist, and we are humbled by Him. (For more info on the counseling ministry, go to http://1stbaptist.ca/counselling-ministry/ )

"The Best Is Yet To Come" When the small band of returned exiles looked at the simple structure of the temple they were building, it looked like nothing to write home about. Compared to the previous, grandiose temple of Solomon’s day this one barely made the grade. But the Lord had a message through his prophet, Haggai: THE BEST IS YET TO COME. Much of what Haggai promised has not come to pass and is something that believers today can look forward to seeing. Join us tomorrow morning online or in-person at 9 or 11!

"Will It Really Make A Difference?" Do you ever get that feeling in the midst of your service for the Lord if it really matters? Sure, we know we are supposed to serve God but there are times when the results just don’t seem to be there and our efforts look fruitless. God’s people who were rebuilding the temple felt the same way but Haggai assured them that the best was yet to come. Join us at church tomorrow for either 9 am or 11 am Sunday Service, or catch it online and on demand starting at 8 am here or at www.1stbaptist.ca/live

First Baptist Church Wallaceburg 03.06.2020

When God’s people were confronted by the prophet Haggai about their need to put God first, a key ingredient that emerged was the fear of the Lord. What is that, anyway, and why is it so important? Let’s dig deeper this week and find out as much as we can. Join us in one of our in house services at 9 am or 11 am, or catch us online starting at 8 am here, or at www.1stbaptist.ca/live.

First Baptist Church Wallaceburg 19.05.2020

It seems like a strange question to ask, Is it time for God? since, as Christians, it should ALWAYS be time for God. However, our life choices, how we spend our money, and how we spend our time may indicate that God is not our first priority. The Old Testament prophet, Haggai, has a timely message for us today. Join us online tomorrow morning as we explore this subject further. Or come out to our 9 or 11am Sunday Service.

First Baptist Church Wallaceburg 15.05.2020

Jesus had something to say about that and we can learn from His teaching. Join us Sunday at 9 am or 11 am, or online starting at 8 am (and on demand after that).Let’s find out what the Lord wants to tell us!
