Thank you so very much Caldwell Street Public School - UCDSB for all the toys and gifts you collected for children and families in need this Christmas :)
The gifts keep coming in ... A huge thank you to Ian Wallace from the Dairy Queen in Perth and the Meadows of Perth Community, he went door to door in this community and collected gifts for children and families in need :)
The Carleton Place Elves were busy on December 2 picking up donated gifts from local business owner, Peter Porteous from All Purpose Towing and Auto Sales in Carleton Place. Peter has been gathering toys from the Carleton Place community, over the month of November, and he has matched each donation he collected. For over 6 years now, Peter has been donating toys to Family and Children's Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville at Christmas, and this year was the most successf...ul yet, with over 1000 toys and 1000 dollars in gift cards!!! Thank you to Constable Paige Whiting and Constable Greg Streng from Lanark OPP who assisted us in picking up and unloading the toys at the Carleton Place office. A huge thank you to Peter, the Carleton Place community and everyone who has helped and contributed to making this Christmas a little brighter and a little merrier for all the children and families in need in 2020 :) See more

September 21-25th is Kinship Awareness Week and across the province, agencies are acknowledging kinship families; the important role they play and the connections they provide for children and youth with their family of origins. For many children, being placed with kin allows them to stay with people who are familiar to them and know their life story. Kinship families also allow for them to remain connected to their culture, heritage and traditions which can enhance their feelings of identity and sense of belonging. At FCSLLG we appreciate kinship families and the role that they have in the permanency journey for the children and youth that we work with! Thank you :)
