Last but not least, we would like to introduce our Community Program Coordinator, Layne Weinhandl! A recent graduate of the University of Alberta, Layne is an energetic and multi-talented team member who goes above and beyond to help coworkers, partners, and community members. I was born in Lethbridge but have lived in Wetaskiwin for most of my life. I graduated University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. I thoroughly enjoy working and being around chil...dren and seniors, which is what led me to pursue this job with Wetaskiwin FCSS. I have enjoyed working with Wetaskiwin FCSS these past 6 months and am excited to get programs and events out in the community, just in a slightly different capacity. Last year I moved out to the County of Wetaskiwin. I have a large dog, Rocky, and somehow have four catsTigger, Marty, Melman, and Oliver. Not a huge cat lover but they are good on the farm and are best friends with Rocky. I absolutely love camping, getting cozy by a fire, and being in the hot sun. Oh, do I miss the hot sun. Just like my shirt says.... I was born to beach lol. Similar to Misty, if you drive past me, you will likely catch me belting out to country music and pretty much any type of throwback. I love to laugh and am a huge fan of corny jokes! If you want to chat or have some corny jokes you want to send my way please feel free to call me at 780-361-4425 or send me an email at [email protected]

Since we are working on introductions, the City of Wetaskiwin FCSS would like to introduce our Community Development Coordinator, Cindy Plant! A longtime resident of Wetaskiwin, Cindy is engaged and up to date on all things Wetaskiwin. Constantly on the move and developing new ideas, Cindy is an integral part of the Wetaskiwin FCSS team! "I have lived in Wetaskiwin for 30-ish years now. My husband is originally from Wetaskiwin, but before relocating here we lived in both Lloy...dminster and Lethbridge. I grew up across the street from the Strait of Georgia in what is now called the Salish Sea. Consequently, I am drawn to water, and one of my favorite things is sitting in my kayak on a lake or in a bay. I have two grown sons and gained a wonderful daughter in law this past September. I have two dogs, Farley and Frank, who enjoy accompanying us on camping trips. Oh, and I talk to myself. All. The. Time. The vast majority of my working life has been spent serving others in some capacity or another, mostly with children and youth. I have enjoyed the past 6 months with Wetaskiwin FCSS and look forward to working with Misty and Layne. We are working together to revitalize Wetaskiwin FCSS and to bring some new resources to the community and its residents. If you would like to chat, call Wetaskiwin FCSS at 780-361-4425 or send me an email at [email protected] - Cindy Cindy, we would not change you for the world - keep being your wonderful self! The Wetaskiwin FCSS team would not be the same without you.
