We are having an auction to raise money for New Wings Bird Rescue and Sanctuary. Deb Thrift the founder passed away this week. It is on our facebook page Feathers in BC auction. Her partner is going to carry on her work. We want to help them during this difficult time. The auction is open now and will close September 14 at 7 pm. Pick up will be in Nanaimo. Shipping is possible the buyer is responsible to pay shipping. Bidding is in $ increments. Thank you

This little guy came in this afternoon to the North Road Animal clinic, but they have nothing to keep him in, and sent... him off to the Coquitlam Animal Shelter on Mariner Ave. He seems friendly and well taken care of, found on Dogwood Street in Coquitlam, does have a leg band on. How many folks would like to get wings clipped, beak trims and toe nails done on Sunday, Aug. 23 in Nanaimo/Cedar? It will be an opportunity for a safe visit but it will have to be staggered so we will be asking people to commit to a time frame and most importantly, book your appointment. I will also be available for other consultations and I have a new shipment of Birdcare products if you need anything. Please leave a message here and I will contact you. Laurie Rex

Our next auction will be in October we are doing art and crafts. Even though we are not able to have meetings to inform everyone we are still having birds come in to our care. We are looking for donations it can be anything from beading, painting, crocheting, knitting, anything you may make.
