We cut down the whole dahlia field today and pulled out all of the supports and ties we also polished off the remainder of our peony planting and are all set to dig all of our tubers starting tomorrow! . .... . Hey I am Heather! My husband @mr.feederflowerfarm and I grow specialty cut flowers, foliage and willows on our farm in Niagara Our flower growing season is complete for 2020 (what a ride)! Even though our season has ended with the frost, we have a long list of Fall tasks to get done with our small team before the snow falls First up, we have roughly 800 new peonies going in, then we will switch gears to ripping out all of the annuals, and digging out the whole dahlia... field to save our tuber stock for next year. Tulips need to be tucked into their raised beds, Willow needs to get cut and made into wreath bases, seeds need to be ordered and our second hoop house needs to be covered in plastic to ensure we get a nice early start to 2021 . There is tons going on behind the scenes here at the farm and I am stoked to get muddy and get it done . . .
