Hearts for Christmas is a Feed Nova Scotia campaign rooted in the belief that every child should have the opportunity to find a little something under the tree on Christmas morning, and every parent should know the joy of picking out that special gift for their child. The special ingredient to #hfxBurgerWeek is LOVE. In a very difficult year, this event has not only surpassed a milestone but also demonstrated the resiliency of The Coast, Halifax's Weekly, our beloved restaurants and the unwavering support of each and every one of you. That is one delicious outcome.

Please take a moment and read this joint statement from Shelter Nova Scotia, Phoenix Youth Programs, Adsum for Women & Children, and Out of the Cold Community Association, four of our member agencies. After you read it, get on the phone, email, or social media and tell your elected official you read it and ask them to take action. These organizations, and so many more in our community, are trying to do the impossible amidst a housing crisis, compounded by a pandemic. As they say, "It is a matter of life and death."

A HUGE thanks to GIVETOLIVE who set a goal to raise $25,000 and 2,500 lbs of food for Feed Nova Scotia. Our staff challenged themselves and successfully raised funds and carried food from Halifax to Bedford. It was an impactful day for all. Fundraising will continue through to December 15th: https://www.givetolive.ca/the-big-feed/
