Feel Good Blankets 22.01.2021

Hi everyone, This will be a relatively long post. Please read it thoroughly if you are hoping to order a blanket, or if you just want to know a little bit more about what we do at Feel Good Blankets. I feel like I need to make a couple of changes to the language used earlier on this page....Continue reading

Feel Good Blankets 05.01.2021

Here's something that's a little bit sad... We all know that Facebook limits the reach of pages like this one, when we post links in our updates. I believe it'...s partly so that we will pay the 'boost post' fees to have Facebook show them to more of you. I also believe it's partly so that you won't click AWAY from Facebook to another site. A week ago I posted a touching story about Cooper learning to play Duck, Duck, Goose. It was seen by 1441 people. It's not viral, by any means, but considering that this page has just over 1000 likes, it's pretty decent. Yesterday I posted a link to a program that could actually save the lives of children with autism from drowning - in times of elopement, of wandering, and of danger. Children with autism, like mine. Like yours. Like the ones we keep seeing in the news. Too often, we see them in the news. That post was seen by 81 people. Sad. Now don't get me wrong - I love that so many of you have seen, and been touched by, the first post. But I NEED all of you to see the second one. To break it down: My kid played a game and almost 1500 people got to read about it. A program now exists that could save our children's lives and less than 100 people got to read about it. Please. Click on this blog page, and scroll until you find the post about the PASS program. Or Google it. This isn't about traffic for me. It's about getting people to be aware of - and share - this program. I'm just not going to share the link again in this post because then Facebook might not let you see it. Please consider sharing this post on your walls and with your friends and groups. This program can only work if many, many people sign up to receive the alerts. This is so important... I don't want to read about another Jayliel Batista. Another Avonte Oquendo. Another Cameron Thomas. Another Sidney Heidrick. And on, and on, and on. And I certainly don't want to live it. It's one of my biggest fears as an autism parent. The Firefighters vs. Autism PASS initiative is a huge leap to stop this from happening again. Please look in to it, sign up to receive the alerts (it takes less than a minute) and share it with anyone who will listen - and those who won't, too. Thank you.

There have been some delays in orders over the last couple of weeks. Judy was sick for about a week, the chaos of Christmas kept her busy over the holidays, and she's had some significant staffing issues at her business, which have to take priority. She's back in good health, the holidays are over, and we think we have made some good progress with staff. ... We should be back on track very soon, and anyone who is waiting for an order will be contacted as items are ready. Thank you all for your patience! Jessica (Judy's daughter)

One of the most common messages and comments that we get is "Can you send me a price list?" or "How much do your items cost?" I am going to copy and paste a paragraph from the"About" section of this page and pin it to the top of the page so that hopefully everyone sees it. "Judy currently donates her time and her materials to families in the Windsor area. A local company has donated the plastic poly beads that are used to fill the blankets and other items. Judy purchases what...ever material she can find at a discount. Odds and ends, sheets, tablecloths, discontinued prints, you name it. She provides these blankets to Windsor area children at no cost. Most of the time families insist on making a donation for her time. Judy graciously accepts these donations and almost immediately turns them over to her daughter Jessica. Jessica runs iPads for Autism, another charity in Windsor with a goal of providing iPads for children with autism in the area." This program runs entirely on donations and there is no set cost. We have received $20. We have received $150. We have received Thank You cards. Pictures of kids with their blankets. Testimonials. Gift cards. We are grateful for every donation and gift that we receive. <3 - Jessica (Judy's daughter)
