Three hundred and sixty five days in a year? That is not very many when looking at the big picture. The hard truth that I have begun to manage to swallow is that our time on this earth is so limited and all that we want to achieve is all captured in this short amount of time. Every day is a day to work towards something that makes you happy, lights up your soul, fires you up and brings out your absolute passion (whatever that may be). ... Spend each day, and each moment wisely, as you may never get it back. Spread love and kindness unconditionally & expect nothing back, as spreading this feeling to others is something that will make you feel good inside whether others reciprocate or not. Be a good person, not just for others but for yourself. Hold yourself high, love yourself and do one thing a day that enhances your self-love (draw, dance, take a long bath, make yourself a healthy meal... This could be Anything.) You deserve it & you know you do. You are STRONGER than you think! Have you ever been in the middle of a work-out and thought wow this is SO challenging - I’m not sure if I can do any more reps and then you were left with two options: 1. Keep Going and Finish It.... 2. Stop, and Go Home. Which option have you been lately? Work-outs, exercise and fitness are not as much a physical grind as they are a mental one. It is HARD getting your body into exercise, it is HARD pushing your limits, it is HARD getting yourself into a routine, it is HARD. The hardest part? Doing it. The mental barrier between, I could do this or I could stop. The easier route is always there for you, but the easier route will not provide you with the benefits of choosing the hard route. So lets say you chose the hard route - you got yourself up on time, you grinded through your work-out, you pushed your limits and you finished your work-out. How do you feel? Most would say, Accomplished Happy Strong Confident Fierce Energetic Motivated Proud Now let’s look at the other side of the coin - let’s say you decided to choose the easy route and skip out on your scheduled work-out. How do you feel? Many would say, Stressed Dissatisfied Unhappy Tired Unmotivated The decision is yours. You control your feelings, your strength, your emotions, your work ethic, your drive, your dedication - YOU. Take care of yourself - because nobody else will do it for you. This is a bold statement & a hard truth that each of us need to be reminded of.... There are wonderful people who provide services (counseling, physiotherapy, coaching, etc.) and family members/friends who constantly provide encouragement, love and support. But if we, ourselves don’t put in the effort to apply the lessons that we are taught by the people willing to help us to make our bodies feel better, mind happier, or life better this change will not happen. It is an internal change within each of our minds that creates the life that we ultimately want. As a fitness coach, my ultimate goal is to provide the tools that you need to succeed when training . A few of these tools being: maintaining a positive mindset, creating an internal motivation for yourself that makes you feel excited for your next work-out, being mindful of form and protecting your body from injury, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, and continuing these aspects outside of the gym setting. As your coach, I want to create a lifestyle change that instills happiness, motivation, excitement, and a routine that provides a healthy balance of nutrition, fitness and self-care. This is all achievable as long as you are willing to take a step out of your comfort zone, and work-hard to make these changes happen for your life. I provide one-on-one fitness coaching sessions. . Change doesn't just all of a sudden happen. It is a process that starts with your mindset. In order to create a change in the outside world, you must first create it in your inside world. Shift your mindset from "I can't" to "I will[DK1] ." The transformation of your thinking process to this "I will" mindset instills the internal motivation, determination, and the belief in yourself that you need to make these changes a reality.... , If there is something that you want or a change you want to see in your life, dream it envision it - and then Take Action. If we dreamed and waited for something to happen, we would all be let down because we didn’t take action. It is in the steps we take each day that make that dream a reality. Goal setting is a great place to begin. Now, the dream or end result we are going for will not happen overnight. This is why Goal Setting is so important because it gives us short term to do lists that help us to take those baby steps in order to get closer towards our dream each day. What you practice grows stronger and I am a firm believer in this. What you do every single day, will aid towards whichever goal/end vision you are going for. If you are looking to increase in muscle mass how you eat, train, and think will ALL have an impact on how quickly you progress. Take it day by day, goal by goal and focus on the tasks at hand that you need to accomplish right now! Your vision should always be in the back of your mind, but it should never be pressing. This can cause sadness, or feelings of overwhelm. Just focus moment by moment, goal by goal and you will get there. This keeps our mind and body happy while taking those baby steps to continually progress. Change is a process that REQUIRES you to stay focused, envision what you want your change/end result to look like, keep track of your goals, and work hard every day to complete each small goal that will get you closer to your end result. How you talk to yourself, matters. Think about how you talk to yourself. Do you say the same things to yourself as you would say to your best friend? 9 out of 10 people would say no.... Ask yourself, why am I speaking to myself this way. Negative self-talk is common typically because of the high expectations we typically hold for ourselves. But what if, we started being kinder to our inner selves, lifting ourselves and our spirits up and started talking to ourselves like we would to our best friend, mom, etc. _____________________________ Why is this beneficial? Negative self-talk can bring up feelings of sadness, anxiety, and other negative feelings and when it is ourselves that talk in such a way - we can trick ourselves into believing these negative thoughts. Breaking it down now - Let's strategically look at negative self-talk from an outside perspective. First, ask yourself: How do I want to feel every day. (If your answers do not reflect how you are speaking to yourself or how you are feeling today this is an indication that something needs to change). If, every single day, we each keep a positive outlook on our life, our self-image and hold ourselves with confidence, self-love and appreciation for our bodies and minds it will bring down cortisol levels, keep us smiling and allow us to appreciate the person that we are and the person we are becoming. The benefits of positive self-talk and happiness = internal inspiration boosted energy levels, motivation levels are boosted, happiness, our ability to unleash our creative mind, and increase our positivity not just towards ourselves, but also to our external. "Your Internal Shapes How You View Your External." Happiness is something we all must constantly work towards every single day. The things/feelings/experiences that we want most in life always come at the cost of hard work, dedication and consistency. This is where that mental work and training your mind to see yourself for who you are is essential. (Examples: beautiful inside and out, kind, caring, strong, confident, etc.) My list could go on.
