Today is the 7th anniversary of our first ever show YONCE. We had 9 dancers, we all did 4+ group numbers and a solo, our backstage was 3x8 feet and we went into this show with no expectations. We sold out 2 shows without any reputation, just an awesome community willing to support something new in town. We cannot thank you all enough, whoever was at this first show, you believed in us and told us that what we were doing was entertaining and needed in this community! Thank... you for believing in us, because of you we took this show on the road to Penticton, then continued to build this company from 9 to 70 dancers! What we have become today would not have been possible without this first little show. We want to thank all our dancers from each and every show for showing up, entertaining, and dancing for yourself! We also need to give huge credit to Eddy + Tony from Sapphire you guys didn’t know Tina from a hole in the wall and you decided to believe in what she was doing and you have said YES to every show idea she’s thrown your way, you’ve brainstormed with her, painted walls you didn’t need to, sewed curtains, climes on the roof to cover the skylights, built stairs, and treated our dancers with the utmost respect always. We love you guys and think of you and the empty stages your housing everyday. Thank you for believing in us and always working with us to make magic happen. We love you.

It’s International Women’s day. Have ya heard?! We want to take this time to thank the women who came before us, who started the women’s movement, to get us to a place where we can continue to fight for equality. Actual equality, not just for the easy stuff, but the hard, confusing, important stuff that we fluff over sometimes. Equality for trans women, for black women, for women of colour, for disabled women, for women who are sex workers, for women experiencing homelessness..., for women struggling with addition, for moms, for single women, for women in forced marriages, for abused women, for women with trauma, for women who want to be moms but can’t carry a baby, for women who don’t want babies, for CEO’s, for doctors, for nurses, for teachers, for students. #intersectionalfeminism Equality of the sexes is something we will achieve as a culture, maybe not in our lifetime, but we will keep fighting. Our place in this fight is to continue to encourage women to do what they want with their bodies. Whether it’s attending a dance class and touching your body while you dance, whether it’s making cash money with your glorious bodies on your only fans page, whether it’s having an abortion for no other reason that you don’t want a child, whether it’s having sex for money, whether it’s reading a book at home in your turtleneck. Sending these balloons for you today Orest Patraschuk Yesterday we heard the news, our beloved sound tech Sapphire has passed away. We have worked with Orest for the past 7 years, he would work alongside Tina Joslin the days leading up to the shows, making sure our audience members had the most amazing audio experience. Often it was just the two of us in the club, trying to figure out computer technology a d chatting about random things in between Orest’s 15 coffee + cigarett...e breaks Orest didn’t need to be there with me all the time, but he wanted to hang out, listen to music and talk about all the past super cool concerts he worked at. He was so kind to all our dancers, he was like our parent supervisor during our dress rehearsals, which is what this video is from. Orest wasn’t only our sound guy, he worked at every venue at Kelowna at some point, he was a wealth of knowledge and amazing at his job, even back when he started our music at the wrong time, or stopped it by mistake I couldn’t help but smile and shrug it off.... because.... it’s just Orest One of my favourite memories of Orest is from our Cinema show. This guy LOVED his popcorn. We sold popcorn to our audience members and at the end of the night, after way too many drinks I made him an extra batch (think movie theatre popcorn machine) and he must of ate 3 bags back to back. Smiling, waking around the club at 1am pumped to have a late night snack, dropping popcorn all over the floor, really riling up Ettorino and Tony with the mess we have a photo of this somewhere.... but I can’t find it. The last show we worked together he was grieving his mother who he had lost only days before. I would of never thought that we wouldn’t see each other for almost another year, and now we will never produce another show with Orest. RIP Orest, you will be missed by a community of musicians, venue owners, and dancers. See more

A day early on #throwbackthursday but it fits into the #humpday category as well.... This show was 3.5 years ago, our last show in the @sapphirekelowna lounge! For our next show we moved into the main room and went from doing 3 shows at 170 audience members a show (jam packed like sardines) to 2 shows with 350 audience members each show. It felt like the big times. Looking back now, it was, it was the time of our lives, performing on a stage, to hundreds of happy, screaming ...humans. It was pure bliss. TAKE US BACK. We have not produced our own show for an entire year! This is the longest break we have ever taken. It doesn’t seem real, but in the same breath it seems all too real for our dancing souls. Performing for a live audience is different than dancing on zoom in your living room or even in studio for a camera. There is no comparison, the euphoric feeling you get from being on stage can’t be recreated any other way, no matter how we get creative. We have been trying to hold out and wait for updates, but we feel it’s time to pull the plug on this pipe dream. @freidawhales + @lifeoftina3 wanted to create a show that was safe + entertaining, to follow all the COVID protocols, but also give you a fun night out. It doesn’t seem like that is possible right now. So we will hope to revisit a Variety show offering in the future, when we can provide everyone with a safe night out. The show was almost sold out! Only 2 tables left so thank you for your support during this crazy time! We will be issuing refunds this weekend, please be patient. We miss dancing for you, but with time we’ll be back!

Really really really miss your faces. Things are weird right now. Really weird. It’s ok to be confused, sad, silly, stir crazy, angry, and annoyed. All your feelings are valid. We feel them too. This pandemic has been extremely hard for this industry and having this space empty all the time is awful. Filming here was so much fun! On the topic of COVID. We had our dancerssign a contract before starting this video series. They understood that they were entering into a 10 person cohort and were asked to not attend any other large gatherings for the time they were in the series. We are 50% full for our upcoming hip hop series with @simonnekraigher and we wanted to formally introduce you Born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia, Simonne Kraigher has danced her way into different cities around the world. Her dance passion started at the young age of 3 and her passion of traveling started as a young adult, these two combined have brought Simonne to see lots of different dance camps and studios all over the world. The biggest training highlight of he...r life has been with the 1 Year Education Program held at The Hip Drop Dance Complex in Malmö, Sweden. The program was eye opening to her, as she got to know the ins and outs of the industry by training under some of the most prestige choreographers. Simonne has been featured in music videos, performances and even choreographed music videos in the Vancouver area. She enjoys being in front of the camera, but has recently found her passion for being the mastermind behind the camera and watching her creations come to life. Simonne has a lot of plans ahead of her to help the dance scene in this beautiful city rise. She can not wait to work with the amazing dancers of Femme Fatale! We love dancing with Simonne, she’s funny, kind and educated and we LOVE that! We are very passionate about bringing you programs with teachers that are qualified to teach that style.
