As an important facility in the community it is vital to remember that many of the events, big and small, that we provide to our seniors and more are sponsored. The businesses in our area always answer our call when we go knocking. This year many are suffering due to Covid-19. If you are looking to buy gifts/gift cards this year please remember our local shops and services. Branch 238 Fenelon Falls Remembrance Service November 11 2020 Public attendance is strongly discouraged due to health and safety concerns from Covid-19 A small ...group of Legionnaires will represent the community in a scaled down ceremony at the Cenotaph. This service will be live feed on Facebook for any that would like to watch the service starting at 10:45 The community can show their respects and support by wearing a poppy, observing a 2 minutes of silence at 11 am in the safety of your home or work place. Branch 238 will be open 12-4 for anyone who would Like to come and pay their respects at the branch. We thank you for your cooperation Lest we forget

It is National Seniors Day today! Who knew?! Yes, that's right today should be all about us. I hope everyone has someone in their lives who will say thanks for all you have done. It's no secret that Maryboro Lodge reveres the horticultural society. The Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society puts in so much effort to make the museum grounds ...and Fenelon Falls look wonderful! If you are looking for a spooktacular mini getaway, consider making a trip to Norland's Mud Turtle Lake Park where the Norland Horticultural Society has created an eerie magical world.

All kidding aside I hear the trail has some beautiful colours, take in some fresh air, exercise and enjoy some fall colours. Sing and dance while you do it if you likeTap the photo for some great tune and moves ideas!

We would like to update our club members and the community at large in regards to resuming club activities. We do know that many are missing the regular activities such as cards, shuffleboard, S.A.G.E.S., Bingo, luncheons and teas. It is after all the reason we have a seniors club, to provide social interactions for our senior community. Rest assured there is a committee of people (volunteers) working very hard behind the scenes to get the club up and running again safely. ...That we can provide for you the social interaction going forward into the cooler months in a safe manner is very important to us. We have met several times to discuss this, it is an expensive and time consuming endeavor, however we are hopeful that we will be up and running again sooner rather than later. The safety of our members is very important to us and to that end we expect to follow all recommended protocols in regards to Covid-19. Indeed we hope to exceed the safety measures and be as sure as we can be that when the doors open you will be welcomed back into as safe an atmosphere as we can provide. We are of course accepting new members at all times and surely would welcome some new volunteers to help us through these times. I would also gently remind you that we do hold a charitable status that enables us to provide you with a receipt for your income tax should you decide to donate to the club. Thanks and keep well! We will remember and be forever thankful.

It is true that many of us have had disruptions in our daily, weekly and monthly routines, and that can be very sleep disruptive. There is some good advice here, and it looks as though we will probably not be getting back to the activities that gave us those routines any time soon and with fall on the way maybe it is time to tweak our bedtime habits.

Although many of our usual activities have come to a halt, a nice walk in the early morning or evening can help with a feeling of normalcy. Be sure to check out the wonderful gardens at the museum for an enjoyable stroll.Thanks to the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society

A few people came out to wish our club president a Happy Birthday this morning. Jean's family arranged a surprise come and go for her and I must say Jean looked surprised and very appreciative. Tough to celebrate in this time of Covid. However we managed to surprise her! With safe distancing and masks we were able to wish Jean well and congratulate her on such a wonderful milestone!
