The Fernie Heritage Library is kicking off new programs to celebrate Family Literacy Day on Jan. 27, including the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative and the Creative Curbside Competition.

This month we're highlighting the voices and stories of black writers for Black History Month. Here are just a few of our young adult and adult fiction titles. See something you'd like to read? Send us a message and we'll pop it on hold for you!

The American librarian and educator invented the Dewey Decimal system, the most widely used library classification system, in 1876. Also know as the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC), the numerical system arranges mostly non-fiction publications into ten main categories. ...
