SNOWBIRDS HONOUR FLIGHT Monday, May 18, 2020 The message below was sent out by the leader of the BC General Aviation Group out of Pitt Meadows. He put a call out yesterday via the Groups Facebook for airplanes to do a Snowbird Honour Flight. ... Within hours he had 70 interested pilots with their airplanes wanting to join. For safety reasons he cut it off at 35 airplanes. MASS FLY-OVER Monday May 18th CYXX 6pm Let's pick up where the Snowbirds left off in honour of Captain Jenn Casey in their mission to fly over Canada to lift the spirits of Canadians. When: Monday May 18th @ 6:00 PM SHARP (NO JOINING MID FLIGHT) Where: Abbotsford Airport Base Of The Tower. What: Meet with your airplane, 6:30 SHARP departure mass flight one behind the other (no formations). If you are late you MUST NOT JOIN ENROUTE!!! Route: CYXX - Over Langley -White Rock - Over Surrey - Maple Ridge - Pitt Meadows - Coquitlam -Port Moody - Burnaby -North Shore - Pt. Atkinson -Jericho -Downtown -Burnaby Lake - Break off to your home airport. Safety: All airplanes to be flown at 80-90kts, no formation, side by side or over under, no overtakes, minimum 1/2 mile spacing. Must remain in the same order from CYXX until the route is complete. Comms: First aircraft will handle ATC. All aircraft will remain clear of Vancouver Terminal and CYVR control zone. First aircraft will communicate with ATC using Callsign: Inspiration 1 and everyone else will monitor and keep quiet unless there is an emergency. Once clear of Harbour control zone and over Burnaby Lake all aircraft will go to their home airport and resume normal comms and navigate home. COMMENT BELOW IF YOU INTEND ON PARTICIPATING HOPING FOR 20-30 AIRCRAFT. If you understand the rules and will participate advise that you have information Tango @cfsnowbirds
