Garlic has been planted, topped with compost, and *almost* all mulched. Trying an experiment with bean straw. The empty strips are where we'll fill in with the mixed grain straw we've traditionally used. Hoping the bean works just as well... way easier to roll out the round bales than tear apart the little square bales one at a time!

Preppin' for our team's year end party. Beers are cooling, cider is warming, pizza is baking, and soon a fire shall be crackling in the new glamour pit! Of course we picked the coldest night possible to gather outdoors - good thing we're all tough!

Got all 9000 cloves for next year's garlic planted yesterday! Next up: compost & mulch.

Spending the 1st post-CSA morning starting to get caught up on Farmer-Led Research Trial data entry. The fall lettuce trial is still underway, but summer is ready to analyze as soon as all 10 farms get their data in. This may be one of the hardest parts of doing research.
