Thank You. I haven’t had someone looking out for me since back in the day with my grandparents. Yes. I would say God has always been there, but I’m speaking about my fellow humans. And for the first time in a long time, I am surrounded by people who are offering me support, unconditionally. .... It’s a weird experience. Where often I get a sense of guilt, panic, how will I make it up to them, what do I need to buy them, feeling lazy, and oddly a longing for old relationships that were not even close to love..simply because it is so familiar. . . Then I shake head and remind myself that I would want the same unconditional love for my 2 children (I am still pinching myself that I am a mother). I have people checking in on me constantly. My fridge is full. The house is set up perfectly. I’m healing from this pregnancy and birth. Building up my reserves again so I can do what I love to do in the future - give. How? I had to ask. I had to pray. I had to make room to turn to those that had always been there, and some new faces too. . . We are missing 2 things right now. 1.God not spirit, or an animal guide or Venus in retrograde or a non-comital version of spirituality or a deck of cards or crystals or a moon circle. I always ask patients what their spiritual beliefs are. 80% believe there is something out there.... 20% regularly have a spiritual practice with God, no matter what religion. And of that 20% at least half have a relationship that is on auto pilot with the same prayer or chant being used daily. There is no real RELATIONSHIP involved. Imagine if you did that with a human...said the same thing to them every day? The only time I see the relationship with God deepen is when someone or a loved one has been given a terminal illness. Almost always the relationship with God is explored then. I will tell you, that it is the most powerful relationship you will ever have. It’s free. It’s exciting. It’s loving... even if you get slapped around a bit while you are getting back on track. It’s easy. It takes patience and wonder. And genuine faith that you have a teammate. So, why aren’t more of us engaged? . 2.Because we have lost the ability to tap into Common Sense because we are playing it safe. Working with humans for almost 20 years I have witnessed first hand that people have no idea why they are struggling and sick. They are easily influenced, but yet absolutely brilliant if given the chance. . I see people think because I’ve had TV interviews or because I trained in China or taught at Grant Macewan University or helped regulate my profession with the Alberta Government I am somehow more fit to serve you than others. Or when someone wins Best in Edmonton or has a fancy website or a big social media following we assume they/we are legit. WRONG. . Our auto pilot ways affect our choices in partners, careers, schooling, food, friends, houses, communities, voting, masks, divisions, initiatives to support, etc. . Put the meditation aside and start praying. Ask for guidance and perhaps some common sense when it comes to what freedom truly is. Stay consistent, make some jokes with God, experiment, play, surrender. . #god #connection #commonsense #love #thinkforyourself #collective See more
