We are offering living space and skill sharing for an individual or pair of volunteer(s) at Feywood Grove Farm on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. We are a permaculture based homestead with gardens, orchards, forest, and animals (goats, chickens, horse, cow, dogs & cats). We could use help in our gardens and constructing our folkschool. We are happy to share our land and knowledge with someone keen to help. Skills we would like to share with you are gardening, orchard mai...ntenance, permaculture methods, animal care, foraging, herbalism, food preserving, cheese making, and building. We also have an art & pottery studio on site if art is your passion! We offer housing in a renovated glamper and access to our home’s common areas for meals, bathroom, laundry, and wifi access. We are a family of 4 with wife and husband running the day to day on the farm as equals, we do not tolerate racism, patriarchy, or bigotry of any kind. LGBTQ welcome. We love seed saving on our farm and my favorite to save is tomato. We have 35 heirloom varieties that we propogate, which means I usually have extras to rehome in the spring. If you would like some, they will be available the first week of June at $3 each or 2 for $5. There are small numbers of each variety available and descriptions are in the photos! Pick -up only.
