With the announcement of the NWHU district moving into the Red Control Zone due to increasing Covid-19 numbers, FFGWHA has been informed that the local ice plants will be shutting down for the season, effectively ending the 2020-2021 FFGWHA Hockey Season. FFGWHA was notified this afternoon that, pursuant to the emergency orders issued today in Ontario, the Fort Frances Memorial Sports Centre will be closed until February 11, 2021.

Due to the extension of the Ontario Provincial Covid-19 lockdown, all FFGWHA activities will remain suspended until the week of January 25th, 2021. As we get closer to the week of January 25th, FFGWHA will provide an update. Please stay safe and healthy.

There’s an error on the schedule for Tuesday practice. U11 practice is October 27 5:30pm on IFK arena. Please use the intake doors near the library.

U15! Just a reminder that there was an error on the schedule. Intake is at 7:00pm and on ice at 7:15pm.... Entry point is IFK east doors off library parking lot.

User groups have received a reminder from the Town of Fort Frances regarding the importance of adhering to the Covid rules and policies in effect and that not following them will result in a delay to the opening of the arenas to spectators. Accordingly, below are the key rules and policies that must be followed when playing at the Memorial Sports Centre:... 1) Do not arrive at the intake doors prior to the start of your intake time. Maintain physical distance while waiting in line. Masks must be worn. Screening will take place at the door as opposed to inside the building. 2) If skating on 52 Arena, intake at the 52 Canadian Doors at the south-west corner of the facility. 3) If skating on the IFK Arena, intake at the IFK Doors beside the library parking lot on the east side of the facility. 4) Masks stay on until helmets are ready to go on. Masks go back on once helmets come off. 5) Players must be physically distanced while getting skates and other equipment on. 6) Exit is through the main Memorial Sports Centre doors. 7) Small duffle bags are allowed for all players and coaches. Goaltenders only are allowed their full size equipment bags. 9) Entry and exit doors are not to be propped open. 10) You cannot exit through the entry doors, even if it is just to get "a couple of things". 11) Intake time is 15 minutes prior to ice time. Ice time is 50 minutes. Departure time is 15 minutes. It is critical that these times are strictly followed so that the Town can do its Covid cleaning between groups. Thank you. FFGWHA
