Periodontitis is an infection that is harboured in your gums and causes destruction of the periodontal ligaments that keep your teeth safe and sound. Your gums stop holding on as tight to your teeth.... . Remember what we said in our earlier periodontal posts. If you have periodontal disease you have it for life. Just like teaching them to walk, we have the responsibility to teach our children the positive habits of oral health care. . We want them to have a happy and positive relationship with things like the tooth brush, or visiting our office. . Sometimes its as simple as starting to let them hold a tooth brush and mimic what you do while supervised in the bathroom during your nightly brushing routine.... . Like they say. Practice makes .... us better! ... To be honest, who are they? and really, perfect... That's not fair for kids. When your child comes in and has been brushing and flossing consistently the last thing we want them to feel is that they have failed or that they aren't "perfect" because they have a cavity. ...
