Hello everyone! We hope your December is going okay! Typically it is a busy, yet exciting time of year for many of us, this year has a different feel to it so ...far for me personally. I wanted to start a new feature to our page called Wellness Wednesdays. I will be sharing various wellness tips and general information through apps, websites, etc. We all need support and motivation through tough times, it is a crucial ingredient in being well. This week I am sharing a very cool web page called Virtual Calming Room. It is a web page that can help support your mental health in a variety of different ways - calming sounds, visual relaxation, exercise and yoga, information on how to seek help, games and art, and much more. Fieldstone Ventures Adult Learning Centre will be closing for winter break. The last day before the break will be Dec 18th. Staff will be returning on Jan 4, 2021. However, the government has put in restrictions for adult centres to be closed for an additional two weeks to in person classes. This closure is to support reducing the spread of the COVID virus after families and friends have been together for the holiday season. For us, this means that learners will not be... able to attend the centre for teaching or support. You will be able to still have contact with staff members for help in many other ways; email, phone, video conferencing, and texts. We ask that learners contact their instructors to arrange for help, and to confirm their schedule of availability. Should you have work to drop off or pick up during this time, make arrangements with your instructor as we will still be here in the building; but you as a learner just can’t stay long. All tests and exams needing to be written at the centre will be done when the government lifts the restrictions. We are hoping that this will not affect everyone too harshly.
