A beach view that feels like a bite of minty fresh gum

He is a pretty eater - what can I say? We drove over to Nova Scotia yesterday to start some early Christmas shopping. So much fun! I loooove giving gifts. Then, we stopped for a hearty lunch at the Quinpool @heartwood_restaurant where I enjoyed a Classic Vegan Pizza with added olives and brocolli, a side of Herb Roasted Potatoes, and an espresso shake with peppermint. We even bought a side of their amazing plant-based caesar "cheese" sauce to take home with us. Mmm.

Sometimes being with nature is messy. We learned the hard way that watching waterfalls isn't always recommended after a rainy day. When we went to see Quiddy Falls (aka Wallace Falls), the short trail was a lot of squishy mud and pretty slippery. At a point where you must scramble down off a ledge of gnarled tree roots, I slipped on a slimey root and slid down the little hill, catching myself on a nearby tree. Oof! Muddy clothes, some scraped hands and a bruised black sh...oulder but NBD. We continued down the trails just to find that all ways were completely flooded by the river. So we decided to head back and return to see the falls another day. Next time, we'll be sure to bring some extra tall rain boots (and soap and towels) just in case.
