Part 2: Ie: She will laugh when she sees this, but I equated my friend @kverwoerd to being my snake-plant friendship... snake plants can thrive with low light and through drought conditions - very little maintenance ... however my partner @nightingalebenjamin requires more water and is temperature sensitive so he is my Boston Fern! You see, these propagations have grown so much in their own ways in a short few months because they were provided what they needed... much like f...riendships and partnerships, or any relationship for that matter, they need to be nurtured, fed and watered, tended to, and doted over in their own unique ways for them to grow and their health to be maintained! I have some people feeling extremely grateful for their support system during this crazy time, and others who are feeling neglected ... if you can see the brown spot on the one arrowhead plant, you can see that he is outwardly telling me that something isn’t right with his environment, just as my clients are expressing about their support systems! RIGHT NOW, take the time to understand if you are a snake plant, or a boston fern, an arrowhead, or a pathos ... figure out what it is you need from your environment snd supports- and then EXPRESS that... nurture your friendships, express when something is wrong, and don’t let the relationship die! If two people know what the plant needs, two people can nurture, water and grow a healthy happy and unique organism Warm regards, Leanna

Part 1: Full disclosure, I’ve only become a ‘serious’ plant mom the last couple of years! It’s been an interesting journey that I’m constantly learning on. It’s extra challenging when things like leaves start yellowing, trying to find the right amount of lighting for each specific plant baby because they start looking sad, and my partner’s personal favourite, when little bugs start appearing up from the soil. So today I went to buy plant food, after speaking about what my b...abies might need with a plant obsessed friend @isootopia , and while I repotted a few babies in hopes to get rid of some of those bugs I mentioned earlier I found myself drawing comparisons to something I’ve spoke a lot about with clients this last few weeks... growing and maintaining healthy relationships. I often draw the analogy between plants and relationships in that much like my early days of plant momming, I thought just water a few times a week and there you have it - a few beautiful plants of varying species that enhance your living space and provide you with cleaner air well let me tell you... The more I learned, the more I could draw the comparison between relationships and plants These beautiful babies right here, are all propagations, taken from a collective or a larger piece of a plant, and moved to live in a new environment, needing to grow roots in order to survive and thrive. We learn how to foster relationships from our parents, and the efforts they make towards us, allow us to experience genuine connection, and have a ‘blueprint’ in how to create new relationships! Now, for the plant propagations to survive, they need some nurturing, new soil filled with nutrients, water but not too much or too little depending on what species they are, and some sun also dependent on what they are... no different than relationships, just knowing but not applying how to grow and maintain health in the relationship isn’t useful! I’ve had a number of people approach me over the years asking how can I help a... friend, family member, co-worker.... what do I do? As a simple way to feel more informed and resourced to be able to help, I would recommend taking the quick read here, about how you can #bethedifference by taking a Mental Health First Aide Course as a stepping stone for an individual receiving appropriate professional care! Have a warm and gentle Sunday! Warm regards, Leanna ... https://www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org//you-can-bethediffer/
