Chalkboard Prison, (the original comedic pilot created by Film Vancouver Productions) is pitching soon to CBC Drama! Fingers crossed the retooled show gets picked up for more development, or even gets an order to series!

Part one of our pickup shoot for 'Master of Time', the Covid short film we made entirely outdoors with natural light and only $1k budget. These photos are thanks to Joshua Clark! More to come...

Just a small portion of the gifts I’m donating to children and families struggling with Covid this year. Or just struggling. Deliveries and pickups have begun! Thanks to clients AspenClean, Freedom Capital and Jayme Cowley Media Co. for Your support this Winter! And to Kyla Murphy & Bronwyn Livingston for chipping in to help even more kids! Over 20 children will have presents under the tree!

UPDATE: I posted a version of this earlier in a local Covid support group. Film Vancouver has now purchased over $500 in gifts for 11 children of five families in Victoria, Surrey and Vancouver. Everything will arrive this week. Thanks to everyone who offered words of support, was brave enough to ask for help or who helped someone I could not. This holiday season is going to be tough on young boys and girls who's parents lost work due to Covid. To help, I'm going to buy Chri...stmas presents for three children affected by Covid, directly or indirectly. You can DM Film Vancouver Productions and tell me your story. If I receive more than three legitimate requests, I'll draw three names from a hat, or consider splitting the gifts 4 or 5 ways depending on the requests. Basically, if you're a parent who needs help, or knows someone who does, then send me a message and tell me how I can help. And before anyone asks, I'm sorry but I can't help with game consoles, but I will do my best to track down a Baby Yoda if requested! Please, please be honest and only submit a request if you're really in need or know someone who is. This offer is for children who's parents are having to choose between Christmas dinner and presents under the tree. Thanks for your understanding! PS: If you want to join me here’s a link to a charity you can donate to with a similar cause. If I don’t find any individuals who need my help, this is where I’ll put my donation.

Forgot to mention that a project I directed the pilot for got selected by the Canadian Media Fund and is on the short track to (fingers crossed) make it to CBC Television. The original version was a sitcom, but it’s being reworked as a drama. Here’s creator Kirt Purdy updating fans on the process.

I'm launching a new bi-weekly sub-blog on my site, called "Liberal Media Bias." The first post was going to be tomorrow about something else, but with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg I felt I need to address some things I'm feeling now. This first post is about what it means to use 2020 as a personified villain as we struggle to cope with bad news. Please read, share and let me know your thoughts. For the political posts, I will not be commenting on local matters or taking positions that could be considered extreme outside of mass media, but I will not shy away from equality, climate progress and free speech. These 'macro issues' are fair game. Please enjoy and feel free to share!

Thanks again to @mathilda_dv for these set photos on ‘Time Escape’. This location featured yours truly as a villainous cowboy, getting shot down in a duel. Visit www.filmvancouver.com/blog for more on making the film!
