#NighttimeInChilliwack. You’ll notice this week, a handful of photographs culminating into a video possibly (fingers crossed) of the chilliwack downtown business center and surrounding areas. Sure it’s not quite #downtownvancouver but it’s starting to carry a charm similar to #gastown less the steam clock and port like feeling. ... The #artinstallations and #murals and lighting ideas have been in the works for some time. Local photographers like myself @desirekokuvi and a plethora of #cellphonographers (new word..) can finally even enjoy a leisurely stroll #downtown even with businesses typically closed earlier than major cities, given we are in the valley. Hard to believe it’s that time of year again. Throughout #NorthAmerica it certainly feels like this last above many others has caused a great many to succumb mental illness. It crosses all point of view borders too, whether you believe #COVID-19 is blown out of proportion or whether you are wishing more could be done to #flattenthecurve...it doesn’t matter, the situation is enough...it has highlighted more poignantly than ever, nobody is immune when it comes to mental health...... Hometown Chilliwack’s own Bradley Gionet, founder of #coronaoke #facebookgroup among other social endeavours, put up a wonderful #noshame post today on Bell #letstalk Day. Thanks for your contribution @thehouseofwittenberg . . Today is Bell #letstalk day, a day to talk about mental health. In an attempt to not feel "crazy", I let my mental health get the best of me, until a year ago, whilst going through bouts of insomnia that would last for days, and weeks at a time, I finally sought medical assistance and was diagnosed with a fairly boring little anxiety disorder. When our bodies hurt, or are broken, or need fixing, we get bandaids, medication, or surgery. Why would our mental health be any different? This year, thanks to covid, I have been forced to have "me time" which sometimes can be lonely, however, it's been an excellent opportunity to get comfortable in my own head. It's also taught me how to calm my racing thoughts. If something isn't right, don't be afraid to ask for help. It's ok.
