This is a great article about clearing clutter and reducing the 'stuff' we own. Although, personally, I would never send decent furniture or other usable/saleable 'stuff' to the dump! Upcycling is big these days and lots of low-income people don't mind brown furniture!) I would send it to the nearest Habitat for Humanity Restore or other nonprofit organization that sells it to help build community.
