Holiday cookie extravaganza this weekend! This is the FIRST Weekend we will be rolling out our holiday cookies at the Saturday market and the finer things show.... Mixed boxes of treats (in many sizes), ginger cookies, our fabulous holiday fruit and nut holiday cracker, savoury mix, hazelnut + orange biscotti and of course shortbread! Tomorrow is the big day. And we're very excited to present The Sewing Collective. The Sewing Collective is a training program supported by the New Canadians Centre that empowers newcomer women with sewing and English language skills in order to provide them with options that can support their future employment. Madderhouse Textile Studios has been thrilled to work with the Sewing Collective to co-design and produce a line of house wares to be launched at this year’s winter Finer Things event. All profits made go directly to Sewing Collective trainees. Further, the NCC has been making use of the hashtag #webelong this year, and so the theme has carried over into the Sewing Collective's designs.
