Thankfully I've not seen too many instruments with woodworm damage (active or old), but in the past few months I've seen these two, so thought I'd share pictures so you can see... The first two pictures were taken through the endpin hole of an old violin (thankfully not a valuable one)...you can see the woodworm tracks in the top where the light is shining through highlighting them orange. Only a thin layer of wood is left on the underside of the varnish here. The other pictures are seen from the outside of an old violin, where woodworm was long ago active in both the back and the ribs...

Happy Birthday to Mozart!! It's so impressive that 265 years after his birth, many people still know his name and can sing or hum his childhood composition; music we sing to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
