Good afternoon everyone! We just wanted to let everyone know that we have received notice that Kennel Cough is making it's rounds around the Charlottetown area. Vets have been treating dogs that attend Upton park so please watch your dogs for any symptoms of Kennel Cough. If your dog is showing symptoms of Kennel Cough please keep them home and away from other dogs until they have had no symptoms for a minimum of 10 days.... We will be going through all vaccine records for our daycare and boarding dogs to ensure that everyone is up to date on all vaccines. If you cannot provide vaccine records we will unfortunately have to ask you to keep your dog(s) home until up to date records can be provided. The health and safety of all dogs in our care is always our number one priority. Thank you all for your understanding and continued support!

Good afternoon, We are sure most of you have noticed we have installed a door bell at our front door, so we just wanted to let you know why and to go over our policies again with you all! We have decided, to keep contact to a minimum for everyone, we will be locking our doors during the day. Starting at 9:30am until 3:30pm. This does not mean you cannot pick-up/drop-off your dog between these times. You just have to ring the door bell and we will let you in!... We would also like to remind everyone that we are only allowing one person in the building at any time. One person per dog/per family. If you have multiple dogs and need assistance please let us know and we will be happy to help! Please remember to remain behind the red line taped to our floor and remain at least six feet away from staff. At this time we are still not accepting dog leashes so just don't forget to bring them when you pick up your pooch. We hope that with our diligent policies as we remain open during these new, unknown times; we can keep everyone happy, healthy and safe! People and Pooches alike! We hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Wednesday pup parents! We are happy to announce that starting June 8th we will be open for daycare Monday to Saturday (hours to be announced)! We do realize that many of you had purchased daycare passes for your pups before we closed in March; so we have extended all expiry dates on passes for two months starting May 22nd. If your pup had an ongoing schedule set up, please reach out to us to let us know if your fur kids will be returning to their normal schedule or if y...ou would like to change/remove any days from your schedule. We always want to have enough staff here to make sure everyone in our care is safe and happy! Please remember to check that your pups are all up to date on their shots before returning to daycare; and if you pup needs a good cleaning before that vet visit give us a call and schedule them in for our Saturday Bath and Nail Special! Reopening Update.. We will be reopening for daycare on May 25th. For the first 2 weeks our daycare days will be Mon, Wed and Fri. Hours will also change slightly during this time. 8:00 am - 5:30 pm. These first 2 weeks will give staff and clients a chance to get use to the new procedures that we will be implementing, which will be posted next week. It's been a long 2 months and we cannot wait to see our fur pals again. ( parents too) LOL! If all goes well in the first 2 weeks, with most of the phases opening, we will be back normal on June 8th!

Effective today at 5:00 pm, we will be closed for daycare and grooming services until further notice due to the corona virus. We will be checking our messages and will make ourselves available for emergency boarding only at this time. Any active passes for our daycare customers will be extended to make up for the time spent in isolation. Thank you for your continued support during these strange times. Take care of each other and stay safe! We hope to see you all again soon :)

Good Afternoon pup parents! With the recent shutdowns of schools, licensed child day cares and possible business we have been getting a lot of inquiries about us staying open as well. As of now we will be business as usual. We would like to ask that if you have your pup booked in or have an ongoing schedule in place, to please let us know if you will be keeping them at home. We would also like to ask that if you (or someone that you have been in contact with) have traveled abroad or are feeling unwell to please keep your dog home with you. Our cleaning protocols have always been, and will remain, extensive. We would just like to take extra precautions to keep everyone healthy during this time. Thank you all for your understanding and continued support!

As a former small business owner, Id like to point out a few things many of you may not be thinking about. One, small business owners are not fabulously wealth...y. In fact, many of them barely scrape by. We had years when I owned my business where most of my employees made more than I did. ALL the risk was on me and I made less than minimum wage those years. Two, small business owners have a complicated relationship with their employees. They love the good ones like family. They want to keep them, provide for them, and keep them happy. They want to do the best and right thing for them. The fact of the matter is they often cant (see #1 above). The bad ones? That's another topic. Three, small business owners are often overwhelmed by it all. When I bought a pet care business it was because I loved pets and thought it would be a good business. I did not understand I was now the HR manager, marketing, sales, operations, bookkeeper, scheduler, trainer, supervisor, customer service manager, etc., etc., etc. You work 60 hours a week killing yourself and NOTHING IS EVER DONE. There is no finish line. It took 11 years after buying my business to have a real vacation and I worried the whole time. It is incredibly stressful and it takes its toll on you year after year. I wouldnt trade the experience for anything, but it was one of the hardest things Ive ever done. Why am I posting this? My former brothers and sisters out there that are still in the fight are hurting right now. They are EXHAUSTED. They are stressed. They are empty and wondering if they are going to make it to next month. 89% of all businesses in this country have less than 20 employees. If you think the stock market crashing is an economic disaster, wait until 10% of those businesses fail all at once. Not all businesses are in this situation, but a huge percentage of small businesses are in exactly that boat. What can you do? Stop spending all your money on toilet paper and shell some out to a small business. Take your dog to daycare for the day. Buy coffee from a local shop (drive through if it makes you happy). Order from a local restaurant. Get your oil changed at a small auto shop instead of a big chain. Buy a freaking t-shirt whatever! Find a way to help these people survive and continue to provide those jobs in this country. This situation will hurt the big businesses too, but they have a much better chance of surviving. It's the little guys that really need your help!
