An extra 200 firefighters have been hired for the 2020 season. It is crucial that facilities remain safe for all staff, which is why we will be closely followin...g the direction of our province’s Chief Medical Officer. All wildland firefighters will complete a pre-screening health survey on a regular basis to reduce risk. Other proactive amendments we’ve made include: increasing hand wash stations at all wildfire facilities increasing sanitation of all surfaces in washrooms and common areas where possible, limiting the number of people in one location removing buffet style meals single occupancy rooms or tents immediately isolating those suspected of infection increasing the use of contracted camps & hotels to supplement our operations
