When COVID-19 hit Ontario earlier this Spring. My kids quickly battled boredom during quarantine. So to occupy their time, we decided to build a little library for our community. We used both new and reclaimed materials to complete this project. Well, today was the day we finally got around to installing it. Team Firestone built this dimensional stone pillar at the #stonemanorwoods park, secured a small platform and installed the Library at its new permanent home. Today we wrapped up this Snow Valley front entrance project. Our client played a key role in the overall design and colour selection, electing to go with a minimalistic appearance. The wall stone, pavers and masonry are a near perfect matching palette. I typically prefer to install a contrasting boarder, but were happy how this one turned out. And, whats most important, our client loves it. Which as a contractor is the best feeling. And thats a wrap for this South Barrie front entrance. We tore out an old existing staircase, driveway border, stairs and sitting area. Built a form and re-enforced the existing concrete landing. Replaced the outdated area, modernizing the design, using some beautiful Permacon material. The pavers are Melleville - 60mm in Scandina Grey with a Rockland Black accent. The steps were constructed with RB wall in Natural. The combo gives a nice clean modern look, complementing the Masonry, by pulling the grey tones from the mortar and window sills. Being that majority of small businesses have not been afforded this same fortune and privilege. I want to assure you, we are grateful for the return. And will not take it for granted. With Premier Fords announcement of additional measures to combat the spread of COVID-19. Its going to be awhile longer before we can share any new hardscape creations. We have finally wrapped up the 2019 landscape season. Frost has set in, and winter is now upon us. Heres some photos our last project of the year. Its one we really enjoyed doing. And are extremely proud of the finished product. Product is Oaks Monterey - Large Rectangle in Tweed. With small rectangle in Tweed and Onyx for the soldier course. The natural stone steps are from Oakville Stone, colour being Hampton Limestone. Window Wells and sitting wall, are Oaks Castlerock... II in Vaughan. The coping utilized is Oakville stone, once again in Hampton limestone. There is approximately 1400 Sqft installed in the courtyard patio. With an additional 600 on the front walkways. It has been a tremendous year, we have met some amazing new clients. Im already looking forward to the 2020 Firestone Landscaping season. Recently completed this South Barrie backyard patio project, along with some driveway borders. Back patio is approx 450 Sqft of Oaks Rialto in Champagne with an Onyx accent. The steps are constructed from the stackable Aria step by Oaks, colour is also Champagne. Front driveway borders are Oaks Centurion in Champagne with an Enviro passagio accent in Salem. Heres another recent completion in Innisfil, ON. This one was an exciting transformation for us. The front entrance is constructed with Permacon Mondrian Slab in Grey with a Black accent. The back patio was installed with the same material. Approx 950 Sqft Steps built from Oaks Ortana in Greyfield. Railing is wide spindle black Rail Blazer aluminum. Heres another recent completion in North Barrie. Our client didnt have the frontage for a switch back styled ramp. So we made due with the space available. We designed and installed this staircase/wheelchair ramp the safest way possible, with a subtle grade that will still be functional in the winter months. Product is Oaks Castlerock II with Oaks Centurion in Champagne and Onyx for the pavers. Photos dont really do this one justice. As there was some intricate work to make this functional yet still aesthetically pleasing. Heres a beautiful front entrance we recently completed in Springwaters Stonemanor Woods. We covered the concrete landing and installed the walkway using Oaks Monterey in Tweed with an Onyx accent. The step and landing coping is Oaks Ortana cap in Desert. The accent wall and pillar are made with Castlerock II and is wired for a light installation in the future. Putting the final touches on this 1800 Sqft patio recently completed in Springwater. The large linear space is specifically shaped and designed for a covered gazebo, outdoor kitchen and outdoor living room. It will fill in the functional area nicely. The product utilized was the beautiful Oaks Monterey in Wicker. Step material is Oaks Ortana in desert. Tomorrow well be cleaning the edges up with fresh screened topsoil and sod. Heres another nice project we recently wrapped up in Springwater. The back patio consists of approx 550 Sqft of Oaks Rialto in Champagne with a Monterey Onyx accent. Steps are made from Oaks Ortana in Greyfield. The front entrance was built from the same material, however the Armour stone garden wall was supplied by our friends at Carr Excavating. Heres a pool side transformation we recently completed in Midhurst. Our clients pool was landscaped approximately 20 years ago, and needed a facelift. Along with removing the old pavers and wall stone, 3 large Blue spruce were felled, making room for an expanded pool deck. The materials selected for this project was Oaks Ortana Wall in Mountain with Oaks Ridgefield Plus also in Mountain, accented with a Centurion Onyx border. There is approx 800 Sqft of pavers and approx ...300 Lf of Wall stone. We installed drains along the retaining walls, with an extensive weeping tile system. With our harsh winters, its important to build accordingly. Water behind a wall is the enemy. Non freezable material is critical. With this heat waive, no doubt our clients are happy to have their new oasis completed. #firestonelandscaping #midhurst #landscapingspringwater
