WELCOME BACK, WE MISSED YOU! WHAT TO EXPECT: Although we really missed you, there will be no hugs from Tracey right now! We will not be accepting drop in patients, please phone in for an appointment. You will be asked a few questions about your health and recent travels before booking. We are booking many fewer appointments than before to allow for physical distancing in the waiting room and for cleaning time. Please feel free to wait outside if the weather permits.... Please do not arrive early, we will only allow 2 people in the waiting area. And please come alone unless you need an assistant or are bringing your child in for treatment. Our restroom is of course available but must be cleaned after every use, so please use your home restroom before you come for your appointment if possible. Please wear your face mask into the office and only remove it if your Dr. requests you to and use the hand sanitizer as soon as you enter And please have patience. We are getting ready for a reduced capacity opening. The Doctors are seeing emergency and urgent patients only right now, but we will be seeing all of you soon. Please remember your patience though, we are only seeing about half the number of patients in order to physical distance in the waiting room and clean between patients

Because of the current outbreak of Covid19, please call and cancel your appointment if you are exhibiting symptoms associated with the virus or have had exposure to it. We are hoping each and every one of us stays healthy!

There is severe flooding in parts of the Cowichan Valley this morning. The Cowichan Valley Regional District, which is responsible for Emergency Preparedness, has activated an Emergency Operations Centre. In addition to the usual high water spots around Cowichan Bay, the Chemainus River Bridge at Pinson's corner has been breached, and the highway is closed between Mays and Henry Roads due to high water. There's also high water on Westholme and Crofton Roads, so there is no de...tour available at this time. Our senior staff have assembled at the EOC; and assessment is underway. For now, the best updates will be available at the Drive BC website (linked below.). We will also be updating the North Cowichan Facebook page as updates become available. The Cowichan Community Centre (formerly Island Savings Centre) is now open as an Emergency Reception Centre for anyone who's been flooded out, but who can still make it in to Duncan. But if you're not actually flooded out, best thing you can do is stay home so as not to add to any traffic chaos, and to check in on your neighbours to make sure they're OK.
