First Responders Golf Tournament 09.11.2020

Together in partnership, CMHA - Wood Buffalo Region and RCMP Fort McMurray are pleased to announce the Third Annual First Responders Golf Tournament, presented by Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, August 29th at Fort McMurray Golf Club. With the event we aim to honour the regions first responders and health care heroes that serve our community, while raising needed funds to support mental health initiatives and awareness for everyone. It takes a special person to want to reg...ularly risk their lives to help keep others safe. But that’s exactly what our region’s first responders do all the time weather it’s COVID-19, responding to fires and floods, or attending to other emergencies. In Wood Buffalo, we have seen firsthand what police, fire fighters, EMS and healthcare professionals do to keep us safe. Beginning with the COVID-19 pandemic, then flooding in April and now the increased awareness of mental health issues surrounding not just first responders, but visible minorities, communities at risk and those feeling marginalized or vulnerable, there has never been a greater demand for mental health services. Now, more than ever, it is vital to support our community. Join us as we celebrate our region's First Responders and healthcare professionals to say thank you with a day of mental health support, education and awareness. All funding raised goes to support mental health programs offered by Canadian Mental Health Association - Wood Buffalo Region.
