Bridge street location families. Just a reminder, if you are waiting in a line up for pick up or drop off you must wait back on the ramp on the orange footprints. This is for the safety of all families. Thank you in advance.

Good morning families! We are very excited to see you all on Monday morning! I wanted to take a moment to post a message regarding payment of fees so families are clear and not caught off guard about their fee deduction. If you left in March with a credit then I will be using up your credit against your July 1st payment and your first bank deduction will be on July 15th. If you did not have a credit on your account or were reimbursed your credit during the closure then y...our first deduction will be on July 1. If you are uncertain which category you fall into or want to check on your deduction amount please feel free to call me on Monday between 8-4 at 613-962-3474. I will be posting to the bank at 1:30 to meet transfer deadlines. Thanks Mary Ellen Monk Office Manager See more

First Adventure has completed all of the necessary requirements to reopen our centres at Bridge Street and Georges Vanier school on Monday, June 29, 2020. Due to the fact that we have had to reduce our enrollment to meet the provincial cohort limitations of 10 we were not able to offer spaces to everyone previously using our centre. If you have been contacted to have your space confirmed then we look forward to seeing you on Monday. All other families will remain on our waiting list and will be contacted as we are able to provide more spaces. It has been a very difficult and challenging time for everyone and we appreciate the support that we have received from our staff, our Board of Directors and our families. We have missed you all.

First Adventure Child Development Centre is committed to creating an environment for children In response to the Premier’s announcement that child care in Ontario can open starting Friday June 12, I would like to inform our families and our community that we will not be in a position to create the level and quality of programs that we believe children deserve at that time. As an organization the well-being of children is one of our core values and two days’ notice does not... allow the time needed to put the practices into place that will support the well being of our children and educators. We are working diligently on the provincial guidelines that were released late last night to ensure everything is in place for the safety and well-being of our First Adventure family. It is our goal to have everything in place to reopen as soon as possible however we will not compromise the well being of our First Adventure families to do so. Thank you for your understanding of our commitment to your children and our community. Debbie Milne, Executive Director See more

TORONTO The provincial government is extending its emergency orders for COVID-19 until June 9. Premier Doug Ford said the extension is meant to keep people safe during the pandemic and to maintain progress in containing the coronavirus. Current orders include the closure of playgrounds, swimming pools and bars and restaurants except for take-out and delivery.... The emergency orders also restrict gatherings to no more than five people. The orders were last extended on May 12 until June 2. Ontario has been in a state of emergency since March 17. Good morning families. In going over the protocols that need to be put in place for us to reopen once the state of emergency has been lifted we have been made aware that each time a child is picked up there must be a barrier between the child and the staff. Emergency centres that are currently operating are suggesting using a receiving blanket as the barrier as it is working well for them. We are therefore wondering if any families have receiving blankets around their homes... that they would be willing to donate as we expect to go through a couple hundred each day as children require cuddling and diaper changes on a regular basis. If you are able to help out, please drop off your donation to 225 Bridge Street in plastic bags as close to the front door as possible so they are in out of the elements. The doors are currently locked but Debbie will ensure to check on a regular basis and we will take care of washing them all before we put them to good use. Thank you so much for your help as we prepare for this unknown journey together.
