First Arts is committed to supporting, Inuit, First Nations, and Métis arts communities. Last year, our donation to the @inuitartfoundation raised $28,000 for their invaluable ongoing project of developing artist biographies. This year we have pledged an additional $10,000 to the @inuitartfoundation as part of a matching gift campaign to support the Inuit Art Quarterly, the only magazine devoted entirely to Inuit art. We at First Arts are committed to the promotion that Inuit... art and artists so richly deserve and there is no doubt that the @inuitartfoundation plays a vital role in achieving this goal. It is imperative that we give back and support initiatives that will amplify Inuit voices, as well as Inuit art and culture. In addition to the funds pledged to the @inuitartfoundation , we have made an additional $10,000 donation to @indspire.ca , a national Indigenous charity that invests in the education of Inuit, First Nations, and Métis students that will provide scholarships and bursaries to Indigenous post-secondary students across Canada. We are proud to be part of raising critical funds for these initiatives and encourage you to give what you can to the @inuitartfoundation and @indspire.ca today. Sincerely, Pat, Nadine, Ingo, and Mark

First Arts is pleased to present our August 2020 Online Auction of Inuit and First Nations Art. We are proud to continue to present to our collectors works from the Collection of Dr. George and Mrs. Joanne MacDonald. Highlights from this collection include a magnificent Raven Transformation / Sisiutl Mask and other striking examples of contemporary Northwest Coast masks; three examples of catlinite pipes, and several other fine works from this important collection. We are ...equally as proud to offer six impressive oils by the artist Sohaney. Aside from the intriguing, albeit opaque, personal background of the British Columbia based artist, the pictures themselves are outstanding works of art, which prompts us to challenge the obscurity in which the artist's work has, regrett ably, languished since the early 1960s.
