This week, Pastor Daniel Fabiano will be sharing from 1 John 1:5-2:2 - Seeing Jesus as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. In this sinful world, there is hope. And our hope is found in the person of Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, who advocates to the Father for us. We will be partaking in the Lord’s Supper today. We encourage you to prepare the bread and juice prior to the service and join us in communion. firstbc.org/first-worship

Today, we will look at 1 Samuel 28, where Saul, feeling cut off from God and filled with fear, acting in a way which the Lord has plainly stated makes it impossible to seek His face. Who you listen to is no trivial thing. Who you listen to can put you in relationship with, or in opposition to, the Living God! Join us in worship! firstbc.org/first-worship
Finding joy in the little things
Getting to know our new Director of Street Ministries, David Nacho. What excites you about this work? So many things! The sincere commitment of the volunteers that have served in this ministry over the years, the challenge of figuring out and discerning how to be fully present in the downtown even if don’t have a building (we always say that the church is not the building, right? This is our chance to live that out!); and the possibility of partnering with other churches/min...istries/agencies/individuals/businesses to plant Kingdom seeds in our city. It was a particularly hard week for a lot of people and it sure feels like the pandemic has ravaged a hole in Advent and Christmas. But God is still in control, Jesus is still King and He is coming. The spirit of Advent and Christmas live on as we pray and reach out to one another. May you know the deep, deep love of Christ and experience His most powerful grace this season. Amen. _______ Since the announcement of the new Provincial Health Orders last Thursday, we have made some changes to our upcoming plans for Advent and Christmas. Please stay tuned to our update in First News this coming Wednesday, November 25.
Good morning! We look forward to welcoming you to our online service at firstbc.org/first-worship. As we enter again into the Book of Samuel this morning, our prayer is to know God more and that He would shape and fashion us in the likeness of Christ.
We are sisters and brothers because we are in a covenant relationship with one another through the blood of Christ. So our care for one another ought to be of the kind that is so committed that the Lord can depend on it to see His purpose done. From the sermon Faithfulness and Family, 1 Samuel 20. Watch it on our website firstbc.org/sermons #showkindness #receivekindness
Stuart Campbell, a lover of culture, shares his list of media recommendations!
"This passage is inviting us to show kindness to brothers and sisters who belong to us, and, in the face of our experiences of rejection, whether long ago or happening right now, to receive kindness from the brothers and sisters to whom we belong in the church."
Today, we come to 1 Samuel 20 and this chapter is about relationships. What can we learn from understanding the relationships between David and Jonathan, and Jonathan and Saul? Join us online!
