Info regarding Easter weekend ...

Are you aware of the serious crisis and issues that are happening in Bolivia? Are you aware that if a parent is sent to the jail (most times the father) that the mother has to not only take care of the needs of the house (rent, food ...) that she is also responsible for her husband's jail cell rent and food?? Which makes it near impossible to provide properly for the children and things have been made worse because of COVID. Please seriously consider of helping us raise funds to help these in need families. Click the link below where you can read more about this project and have the opportunity to donate online. Welcome to worship today, even though we are unable to meet in-person we are grateful for the opportunity to worship virtually. We pray you have a blessed time of worship as you connect with your God. We continue our series "Sent" as we look at what it means to live a sent life. FBC COVID Response November 20, 2020 As we are all probably aware by now about the new measures that were brought to the province from Dr. Henry; your Leadership Team has met to discuss what will now be in place for us as a church.... As you are aware all social gatherings have been suspended that includes both indoor and outdoor gatherings. Because of these new restrictions we are no longer able to meet in-person, but also not able to gather for a drive-in service. We have been requested to move all our services to online only during this time. So, the leadership has decided that from right now our services for November 22, 29, December 6 & 13 will only be available virtually. You can access our service either through our website (www.firstbaptistport.info) or our Facebook page: First Baptist Church Port Alberni on Sunday starting at 10:30am. We will go back to our plan of how we will receive your tithe and that is either by mail or you can drop it off at the church Tuesday or Thursday 10am-noon. If you choose to drop it off at the church because of the new mask mandate you will have to wear a mask as you enter the building. Some may be wondering about our Christmas project, we will use the same method as your tithe if you are writing a cheque and that is either by mail or drop-off. Remember to make your cheques out to: Canadian Baptist Ministries and on the memo line make sure you write: HGCC FBC Port Alberni. You can also donate online by going to: www.bolivia.hopefulgifts.ca/team/portalberni . We have a schedule Business Meeting for Sunday, November 29; we will still have that meeting and now will be meeting on Zoom on that Sunday at 1pm. The link or phone number will be provided the week of the meeting. We will continue to watch and assess the situation for us as a church and within the province.
