Bible Study September 23, 2020 Last Week Homework: Read Philippians 4: 21-23 1. How does Paul end this book?... Salute every saint in Christ. The brothers which are with me greet you. All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar’s household. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen (Philippians 4:21-23). Paul ends with a benediction. He gives all the glory to God. The ending is a reminder that everything Paul said was from God and for His glory and the purpose of all of his instruction to them was so that they could glorify God more. 2. What lessons can we learn from his conclusion? Believers are saints who sometimes sin, but are no longer sinners by identity. Believers are to a true family where each person is cared for. Paul’s desire is that each person would know that he cared for them, that all who are with him cared for them, and that they be reminded that Christ cares for them the most. Today's Lesson: The Book of Colossians The church of Colossians may have been the smallest numbers-wise of any other recipient of Paul’s letters. Yet the content of this book is highly treasured and a bedrock for our understanding of our Savior. While the world around us descends into relativism, new age philosophies and a liberal everything goes mindset, the book of Colossians is like a light in the dark. In it we see the most powerful and beautifully worded Christology in the New Testament. The might, power, supremacy, and sufficiency of Christ the Creator and Sustainer are detailed in vivid fashion. New believers can study Colossians to better understand just who Christ is and long-time believers can keep coming back to this book to get back to the roots of our faith in Christ, who is our head. Homework: Read Colossians 1: 1-14 1. Why does Paul begin most of his letters by stating his apostleship? 2. Name seven (7) things within these verses, that we do not cease to do. 3. Interpret verse 10 in your own words. Send your homework and lesson summation to: [email protected] Be Blessed and be safe. Pastor Della

Sheltered in the Arms of God September 20, 2020 Our Heavenly Father is an invisible spirit who has no physical body. Yet Scripture refers to God as having physical characteristics. Although He has no body, the Bible speaks of God’s face, eyes, nose, hands, feet. The divine attribute of God’s love is gently portrayed in numerous Scripture passages revealing how the Arms of God provide for us. The words arm or arms are mentioned over 90 times in the Bible, and about hal...Continue reading

Bible Study September 16, 2020 Last Week Homework: Read Philippians 4: 1-9 1. What is Paul’s joy and crown? The two phrases whom I long to see and my joy and my crown both act as adjectives to describe Paul’s brethren, the Philippians. He expressed his hope to see them soon and he views them, those who have come to faith, as a result of his spiritual investment as his joy and crown. They are his joy because they are doing well and growing. They are his crown because th...Continue reading
