Good afternoon everyone, As you all know, this coming weekend is the Easter Long Weekend, with Good Friday falling on April 2nd. To help us celebrate ahead of time, First College is expecting a visit from the Easter Bunny tomorrow morning, who might just hide a chocolate egg or two (or sixty) around the College. There might even be a couple of big prizes too! When you get to campus tomorrow morning, feel free to look around & see what you can find (maximum 2 per person pleas...e). (*Please note that chocolate will not be hidden in the file room/staff offices/bathrooms/the electrical room; we kindly request that you do not go looking in these areas. Celebration of Lunar New Year Dear all, I hope that you are all having a good week so far. On behalf of First College, I am pleased to invite you to our first event of the year next week! On Thursday, February 11, 2021, we will be having an event to celebrate Lunar New Year. ... We invite you all to wear red or bright colors, and prepare for some trivia questions on Asia and Lunar New Year. We will post the questions on the Information Board outside the Library in the early morning. If you know the answer, take the corresponding piece (with the question number on it; maximum one per person); you can come to the Information Center/ Reception Desk anytime between 11 a.m. -1 p.m. to give your answer. If you have the right answer, you will be awarded a small gift. Also, dumplings will be provided as an appetizer or a side dish during the lunch break, although we do ask that you pack a lunch as resources may be limited. We are sorry that we could not find gluten-free dumplings; however, gluten-free donuts will be provided instead for those who follow a gluten-free diet. This year has been full of upheaval, especially for those who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, out of upheaval can come new opportunities, and many are considering this a good time to pursue studies for a new career. Starting a Registered Massage Therapy program at First College in downtown Kelowna. This program gives people who are looking for work, or who are simply seeking a career change, the opportunity to get into the industry.
