First Step Travel 10.05.2021

I have had a lot of clients and people reach out to me about updates with flying and the Pandemic. It’s been a crazy year for my travel business as I started w...ith cancelling cruises already in January 2020. Unfortunately 2021 is not starting out any better but hoping that will turn around sooner rather than later. Update for January 8, 2021 - (see below) Westjet will be cutting back 1000 jobs which also means many cancelled routes. Other airlines have limited flights and routes and schedules are subject to change especially with the government rules in Canada and other countries changing constantly. As much as I love to travel and know the industry is struggling I do advise to wait until this pandemic has lifted to travel out of country. Emergency flights not withstanding. If you do decide to travel out of country keep in mind that you need to have a negative covid test that is valid 72 hrs before departure from Canada (this test requirement is determined by country you are traveling to) . Upon return you also need to be tested in destination and have a negative test that is valid 72 hrs before boarding your return flight. The in destination test is at passenger expense which is anywhere from $80-$135 USD per person. If you do not have a valid negative result to show you will be denied boarding. Once back in Canada you will still need to quarantine for 14 days. I hope that this answers some of the ongoing questions and concerns everyone has. #firststeptravel First Step Travel
