After gentle rains for most of the day, we were treated to a gorgeous sunset. Thankful to be on Buck Lake!

Well, it's official, the border is closed through the end of the season and we will not be able to welcome our much loved American guests. It's been an interesting season to say the least! I miss you all more than you realize and truly value the friendships we have made! All reservations and deposits will be rolled over to next year and I will reach out to everyone to confirm dates for 2021. We still have some CDN guests coming and we look forward to hosting them along with ...our hunters this fall. Stay safe and healthy and we will see you all in 2021!

Summer 2020 update I know so many of you are thinking of us up here on Buck Lake and we truly appreciate your thoughts and kind messages, thank you! I want you to know we miss you all. I miss our guests, our staff, I have been really missing my girls but most of all, I miss sharing this special place with everyone! Our guests are anxiously awaiting news from Buck Lake and I have been told some of you check our facebook page daily looking for an update! So I will fill you in ...on a regular basis and provide a glimpse of what is happening up here. We are open to Canadian guests and we have had 6 CDN groups through so far. JoeFish was excited to have a crew of five 14 year old boys in last week! Some of these boys have been coming to Buck Lake for the past 6 years and they have become great friends! Bingwood Cabins welcomed the first guests of the season on Friday while Buck hosted for the past 2 weeks. Today at camp we had a moose walk through Buck Cabins, a baby beaver swim around the plane dock, fishing off the plane dock was phenomenal and an eagle swooped down and grabbed a fish in front of cabin #2. The weather has been hot so Joefish and I took a cruise around the lake checking out old shore lunch spots and stopped by Hamm Island. Alex and Trevor are manning Bingwood Cabins and John has a list a mile long he is working on. To answer some commonly asked questions, the water level is normal and you can go through the slide through. The black flies were short lived and done for the year. Moose have been spotted in the river and swimming across the lake. Alex has a great video of the moose swimming. No bears seen yet. And of course.....Fishing has been fantastic! As we navigate this season and invite new guests to see what Buck Lake has to offer, I ask that you share what coming to Buck Lake means to you and why you keep coming back. Share some photos and memories or give us a review. Tell everyone why they need this experience, this year more than ever! I know I have enjoyed taking a break from the news and being able to disconnect from society and just be surrounded by nature and I'm sure many others would benefit from it too! It's Sunday morning on what would have been the 4th week of our season and there are no sounds of float planes in the sky bringing excited fisherman to a remote lake. I always thought remote outfitters should be deemed essential services and now the Ontario government agrees! We are now able to welcome Canadian residents to our lakes. Our doors will open on June 15th when our first CDN guests are set to arrive. Safety is still our biggest priority and we will be adhering to Ontario Emergency Order restrictions and implementing new cleaning protocols for cabins and boats. The lakes, rivers and trees will stay the same. While the border cl...osure affects a great many of our scheduled guests, we will continue to reach out to you to discuss alternate plans if the border closure is extended. John, Alex and Trevor flew into Buck Cabins yesterday. The camp wintered well and John already has the water running and a boat in the water. I did not hear if he has been over to Bingwood Cabins yet. Alex and Trevor hit the lake looking for those hungry walleyes for a feast of fresh fish! JoeFish and I will be heading up in a few days.
