Since 2014, the Fisherman's Wharf community has participated in the Socks from the Docks charity drive for Our Place Society. This year, the community will be collecting socks and other warm winter gear from Nov 22 to Dec 6. A collection bin will be available under the tent at Barb's each day during those two weeks. Our Place distributes more than 100 pairs of socks each day throughout the winter. They happily take all the socks provided and are especially appreciative of the white sport style socks for men. Over six years, the community has have donated 1972 pairs of socks as well as many other winter items (gloves, hats and toques, jackets, sleeping bag and tent, rain gear, rubber boots, and more!).
