These 4 ; almost made it through the week teaching and learning at home together. So far, they are making it work the best they can and even having some good times. With today’s announcement, of 2 additional weeks, they can keep on keeping on! In the beginning, I begrudged having to leave to go to work everyday, with so many unknowns, what if’s, changing policies, etc. But now, months later I feel extremely grateful that I have a job to go to, that I work in a place ...surrounded by amazing colleagues, that my day to day life is not a lot different from normal, and that I have these 4 beauties to come home too. #findthegood. #gratefulheart #bethankful

When it comes to a fitness routine, if you’ve ever struggled like I have, with: Setting goals and achieving them Knowing what to do and HOW to do it when it comes to form and working out... Staying motivated Finding variety Feeling like you wasted time or didn’t make the workout count Then I owe it to you to tell you what solved all of those in one swoop for me: finding a fitness community. I’d heard about the benefits before, but it was all in one ear and out the other to be honest! Until I got serious and realized I just wasn’t getting where I wanted to go. It was because I was telling myself I could do it alone. Personally, I can’t afford to wait for motivation to strike! Do you catch yourself thinking I don’t even have time to shower most days between going to work, cooking, cleaning, groceries, laundry, helping with homework, and ALL the things. If hindsight were 20/20..... I started Autumns new program back in December and was killing the workouts but my nutrition had a lot to be desired through the holidays so I have decided to do a reset. I went back to work today, am in the middle of a 3-day refresh, and am doing a variety of different workouts this week before I re-start this program and go all in January 11. This program is Awesome. And hard. But in the best way! ... Less than 30 minutes of sweating my tush off with DCT-T training...AKA, Density Complex Tabata Training. Here’s how it works In the density round, you crush out as many rounds as possible of 5 moves before the In the complex round, you rep out back-to-back moves without dropping your dumbbells or resistance bands...no resting here. Then, you completely empty the tank with the tabata round, incinerating calories and fat. This program is EXACTLY what I’ve been needing. I’ve been feeling a little blah and off track with my nutrition, gave in to the holiday treats, and feeling a little too relaxed. But this program there’s no time to be unfocused! Back in the day, I used to think that if I ate a 500 calorie slice of pizza, I had to immediately go burn 500 calories or I’d gain weight. I thought that I had to spend HOURS in the gym running on the elliptical and doing crunches to be skinny. I would deprive myself of foods that I thought had too many calories, which wasn’t doable, so then I’d binge later, eating ALL the things.... viscous cycle repeats I’ve been unhealthy and overweight. I’ve felt horrible in both scenarios. I’ve felt completely trapped, stuck, and discouraged. This is my story. But you know what else is my story? Finally taking control of my mindset and unhealthy vision of what nutrition and exercise needed to be in my life. Being able to finally say I’m in control and I hold the POWER is so empowering! And I know there are so many of you out there that can relate. But it’s scary to admit and to talk about. But trust me, the sooner you get it out, the sooner you can let it go. I wouldn’t be telling you about the hardest times in my life and how I finally got my life back on track if I didn’t know it could HELP YOU TOO. I am living, breathing proof. Ok, I’m GOING THERE: I like me some sweets sometimes, especially ice cream, but I’m that buzzkill here to show you the science behind WHY it’s a fake happiness!! Don’t hate me, just read so you can make educated choices if you’re still going to eat the birthday cake, ice cream, sweets, candy, etc. The computers in our heads make two happiness chemicals:... Dopamine = only touches 5 brain receptors. It’s from acts of short-term pleasure, is ADDICTIVE, and just leaves you wanting more. Seratonin = touches 14 brain receptors. From acts of long-term satisfaction, NOT addictive, and leaves you thankful and content with where you are and what you have. Soooo next time you are feeling a little slumpy, remember this!!!
